In 1989 AYK debuted the Pro Radiant, a 1/10th 4wd buggy as a successor to the 1987 released Radiant. Changes included fiberglass vertical chassis plates replacing the previously used aluminum plates. Movement of the motor from a rear mounted to a mid-mounted position. Redesigned aluminum bodied oil-filled shocks and fiberglass shock towers. Bright orange double A-arm front and A-arm/link rear suspensions. Optional one-way drive system for forward only operation. And a new more aerodynamic body featuring a chassis mounted wing. The Pro Radiant and its Boost stablemate would be the final 4wd buggies produced by AYK:

I thought I would explain my Mike Dunn question here rather than hijack the Dunn QA thread.

There are a huge number of Boost shelled Pro Radiants on the internet, even stickered with Pro Radiant decals.

You are correct. The Pro Radiant body did not work with the saddle pack conversion. Perhaps that explains why the different bodies on the ones pictured. I know we ran a different body, but just can't remember which one. To be honest, I never liked...

Does anyone know if the pro radiant had a cockpit driver? I found a driver recently in my boxes of parts and I can't pin it down to any other car.

I was recently given this document from my good friend Rob in Melbourne. Haven't seen this one before but it had me wondering if Jeff Harris was the guy leaning against the Pro Radiant?

That's a pretty good catch Jason. Most of the pics I've seen of other team cars show them with the AYK shocks. I'm sure there's others out there, but mine is the only team car I've ever seen that used the gold shocks.

Few pics of a Pro Radiant I picked up on the bay, should be here next week.
Talked myself out of buying one a few times, finally succumbed to it.
No idea what it is missing or what it will need, looks pretty complete, I think.
