Astro Flight Model 4005 B Charger - OK for NiMH?

I have a 40 year old Astro Flight 4005 B charger. Can I use it to charge NiMH batteries. It can supply about 5 amps to a 7.2v NiCad pack.

It will charge them but it doesn't have any form of peak detection.

Always looking for new and interesting ways to waste money.

Got a brandnew, never used Astro Flight timer charger model 4005A some time ago. I have not found any pictures or informations for an Astro charger of this type, the oldest I found was a model 4005B what seems being introduced in 1982. But this one...

it's a very popular style quick charger, there were quite a few companies that made essentially the same thing. Not sure if they all came from the same place or if each company made their own. Astro-flight was always a good company.

Buddy gave me his old Pro-Ace super charger that he got when he bought the RC10 I now have. Has adjustable current, trickle charge and can run on AC or DC power. Question is, can I charge my 5000mah batteries with it? I do plan to get a newer...
