Pictures of some Losi Prototype parts

Post by Rich Trujillo »

Hi All,
I browse here once and a while and I've enjoyed reading and viewing the posts with all the info about the old Losi cars.
I thought I'd share a couple pictures of Proto parts or just old parts that I've gathered over the years working for Losi.
I have a bunch more buried in my storage unit, including my favorite which is a clear 4-Row tire that I need to find.
Thanks for sharing and hope you guys enjoy these pics,
Rich

Post more often Rich...we would love to pick your brain for info.

Any chance you have one of the Prototype XX4 Magnesium Chassis? If I got my hands on one of those, I would build a serious Shelf Queen.

I believe the original car was stolen during a break in. I never saw it myself, but i can get the answer for you as one of the guys I work with probably painted it.
I'm going on 15 years with Losi so that one was a little before my time.

Welcome aboard mate, good to have a Losi savy here!

Here's a pic of machined (?) prototype rear A-arms, these are black though... but from Gil Losi's personal car :!:

I haven't been the Team Manager for approximately 5 years. I'm now a product manager. Some of my projects have been the following:
Drift R
Micro Baja
Micro DT
Mini Raminator
Mini Ramunition
1/10th Desert Truck
Mini Rock Crawler
1/10th Comp Crawler
I've also done some tires to including the Rock Claws, Rock Carvers and the Mini Rock Claws and Rock Bashers
To say the least, I'm having a blast in my position. Some projects I've been assigned and more have been my idea. There is a lot to the process, but it's an awesome feeling when a product I've been working on is released. I'd have to say I'm most proud of the Mini Rock Crawler, other than the actual design work and the box art, I pretty much had my hands on the entire project, even the stickers and "action shots" :)

As for the Performanance body, I've been told that it was Gil Jr's old colors. It was painted by Gary Kyes. The thin stripe was flourecent orange (with shading) and the back color was "Candy Brandy Wine".

For fun here's a few more pics:

I wanna say I have seen those tires, or some just like them. Bet they got great forward traction, but no sidebite.
