Re: My first RC10T. But, what is it?
The front tires are original 10T #7870's and they have a heavy spot. I've spun them on the wheel 180 degrees and results are the same so it's the tire. Was it common bitd to balance them? Not sure how common it was but a friend of mine balanced a set of tires of mine and it was night and day differ...

Re: RC10 - A Stamp Rebuild - Chipped Idler Gear
All of the steering parts are cracked in some place. One set is original, the other looks like an early repro, the texture is rough. I've always wondered if the non-threaded portion of the ball ends ( just under the hex ) tends to add additional stress to the holes that tend to crack. At least I do...

Re: RC10 - A Stamp Rebuild - Chipped Idler Gear
I bought a 48dp 81T spur to go with this, but seem to have lost it, it's just gone now - but would they have used 48dp in 1985? Thanks! I believe early 6-gears came with 32dp spurs. https://media3.giphy.com/media/v1.Y2lkPTc5MGI3NjExamF3NnYyZTF0eXhxdzd0OWFkOXNoODc5dnpuOWE0d2hleGh2b3NneCZlcD12MV9pbnR...

If it doesn't include a paper manual, FORGET IT! I'm OUT.Frankentruck wrote: ↑Fri May 31, 2024 4:37 pm AE would do a little better. They would include wheels ...oh, and the fancy replica box too. But otherwise no, the AE kit probably couldn't be any nicer. Now if AE did the coffin chassis....

Re: FanRC Complete Graphite Worlds Kit (Slider)
I was looking at it just this morning. Received my third order of FanRC parts yesterday and cannot believe how nice they are.
Anyway, apparently this one's not limited production and it's definitely on my list but since the 10T is limited, it comes first.

Re: Are we ready to add an RC10T ReRe section?
I have to be honest, I thought today was going to be "the" day for the RC10T release. Through chat a week ago, RCplanet was supposed to get their inventory and have them for sale today. I was given an inactive link that was going to go active as soon as they had them. They don't even have...

Re: RC10 Classic 40th anniversary
I'm actually an engineer and have lots of precision calipers You have to appreciate the irony of you following up this statement by showing what looks to me any standard digital micrometer, and its battery being held in place with masking tape. Is that thing NIST traceable? Maybe it's a...

Re: Are we ready to add an RC10T ReRe section?
Personally, I'm glad that I have the opportunity to purchase a new 10T at a reasonable, non-scalper price. In my hording pile, I have a restoration candidate 10T that's been waiting it's turn. The box looks like it was used for BB gun practice. Having a new truck that doesn't need special attention...

Re: RC10 - A Stamp Rebuild - Chipped Idler Gear
Though it was overkill for my cars and my ability, I ran the 1985 ESC-190 Pro (P) black sticker, golden letters, 6 + 2 FET. Bought it as soon as I could afford it. Tekin ESC190.JPG It was the only ESC I ran for probably 10 years and it still runs just like new. Still in my Delta Spyder. delta5.JPG ...

Those spring adapters look great!
I'm curious; which spring rate you are using. Are they 3.15 and 2.00

Re: RC10 - A Stamp Rebuild - Chipped Idler Gear
... We are running chinese $1 a pop bearings these days vs the $80 high end NMB bearings sets back in the day. That's true and the difference is night and day. I have some of those early metal shielded bearings and they're still smooth and spin forever. By contrast, I've had to replace many of the ...
