12 years later I finally do something with this chassis. I changed out one of the front shock bodies and a few incorrect screws. Installed a set of Tecnacraft wheels along with an Andy’s painted Protech and Thorp wing
With all the quarantine talk I elected to R/C and chill this weekend on a few projects. One of them was this buggy I bought and initially built a few years ago.
This buggy was worth all the ordeal it took to get. One day while surfing Craigslist I...

Andy still sells the painted Renegade though his eBay account.
I've finally been able to fulfill a dream to build the venerable MIP 4x buggy. In 2004 I built up a chassis using the MIP 4x400 cable drive 4wd conversion kit. A bunch of period SRB hop ups and a homemade chassis.
Not really satisfied, I...

Thanks for the comments. Tonight I was able to get the MRP Baja Bug body roughly trimmed and mounted.
I had a little bit of time to spend on this buggy. It had been living in a box as parts for about a year now. Built pretty much stock with the exception of the tecnacraft turnbuckles and andy's arms

Jconcepts has new tires and wheels that have a vintage look but with modern tire technology.
Judging by the caps and seals, those look like bottom load shocks. I'd just clean them and install new o rings with the old hardware and spacers.
I have always been on the hunt for a newbuilt 6010 for while now. I have passed up on a few on ebay and sometimes wish I had not. How much would I expect to pay for one? How much would my new built CE minus the aluminum wheels be worth. My thought...

That was some big coin. I thought about bidding but I would rather have a new built and not pay a premium for a NIB kit.
