It poured in today!! Two RC10 rere tubs, another Fiero GTP (which seem to be coming out of the woodwork these days), and a mass of Tami 3-speed parts including Hilux stepside wheels, tires, axles, SCs, chassis, grill, brushguard, shocks/springs/mounts and Bruiser trans and wheels / tires.

Yep, Bruiser 750 vs. puny 540 Hilux. :D Although I will always prefer a Stepside Hilux or Blazer over a Bruiser.

Unintentionally, I now have Bruiser wheels, tires, axles, and a trans, so I am thinking about making my HG-P407 into a better clone!

A really nice time capsule came my way. All it needs is a good cleaning and a body. The original owner seems to have taken really good care of it. I'm not sure if I'll go painted or clear with the body.

Old School LRP Goodness,
Snaffled this up on a NZ auction Site, LRP Gen 1 13 X 3 sx modified, seem to remember i had some weird wind 17 x 5 or something similar from a closeout bin from Stormer Hobbies years ago when i had my B2 and some mtronics speed control,it was just nuts fast.
This is the same age i think, hope it rebuilds ok.

Thanks....seemed like the best option over here in Europe to run an old Novak DigiPeak Plus w/nicads. 117euro/128usd. Mostly good reviews. Adjustable voltage might come in handy later If I ever upgrade chargers/batteries later.

PC power supplies work well, too. I snagged one out of the garbage at work. It was only 250W, but when you are only using 12 volts, that is a good, well regulated, filtered, surge protected, thermal overload protected 20 amps. Cost exactly $0.00 :D The more common 450W is even better at 37.5 amps. Gamers throw them away when they upgrade.

Use any yellow wire (or better yet, tie all yellows together) for the +12 volts and any (or all) black for ground. Depending on the model, you may have to "trick" it into turning on by making a short here or there. Instructions are readily available on the interweb.

The hardcore racers amongst us might be rolling their eyes at the suggestion that 37 amps, god forbid just 20 amps, is sufficient, but for most folks, that is way more than you ever need. I normally charge 3 car LiPos at once, or 5 for planes.

I tried using a brand new Power supply for a PC and it wouldn't hold a steady voltage. It could have to do with my bastardization work, or it could be that I'm not meeting the criteria for it's "smart" needs.

Yeah, the newer ones are trickier. On mine (which is not "new" but much newer than what was around when I was building PCs) I had to tie 5 volts to some sensor to fool the "soft" power switch.

My memory tells me it was an orange wire, which means it was probably any color except orange.
