Cold and rainy today.
Great day to get on with the build.
Tried to mount a Savox servo but the orange name plate was just too much so I went with a black Futaba.
Really like the way the servo arm turned out.
I even went ahead and mounted the servo saver on the correct side
Probably should have bid on the Ebay lot that had the 480s but I got a really nice 240st slated for the motor most probably.
I got a 610rv for an ESC, age appropriate, but it's big.
I just don't know yet...

I'm assuming that this car will never be seriously ran, so it wouldn't matter if it was slower. A Tamiya Lightly Tuned motor has a light blue endbell and black can. You could even put a 480S decal on it.
Always looking for new and interesting ways to waste money.
Yeah it won't be a race car.
How bout a nice old stock AE motor, the blue on the decal almost matches the chassis.
Wouldn't that just burn someone's bacon
So a few more items added to the car.
Suspension and front CVs mostly.
Still need a few small items before thinking about motor, esc, receiver and wiring.
This thread is about two Optima Mid models in the SWB segment. One Turbo Optima Mid and one Turbo Optima Mid SE being built side by side (those two yellow cars in the picture above).
Parts are taken from several mid cars I have in various shape....

The build thread still lives on here
I referred to it many times during my ongoing Turbo Optima Mid SE thread.

This is a project I have been chipping away at on and off for nearly two years with most of the time having been spent sourcing parts, trial fitting various bits and getting ideas from other peoples builds. I've recently gotten to the point where I...

I am an RC10 guy, but always liked the Ultima and Optima series that Kyosho produced. I don't know much about them though. I always wanted a 4wd buggy since the later 80s, but never did end up with one.
Lately, I have been contemplating weather or...

Turbo Optima Mid: Optima Mid with full options (stabilizers, ball bearings, 2mm duralumin bronze anodised flatpan chassis, ESC ready)
Just got it, never had one as I have always been a Tamiya/RC10 guy. Like I said, I think its a Mid SE. Pretty complete but I am now realizing the front bumper is going to be hard to find. Anyone have one?
