-Le Mans 240SB (fastest-revving of all of them, back in the 80's)

-Le Mans 480T (gorgeous green)

-Le Mans 480S (beautiful blue)

Honorable mention: Le Mans 480 Gold (better than the 480T or 480S with its aluminum endbell, but I like the green & blue more esthetically); I didn't choose ones that didn't have adjustable endbells, that's an important detail for me.

I concur with ole boys point on adjustable endbells, your choices are very nice, that being said, the 600e could be the holy grail of adj. endbells

Why? What would I know?, just that mine is a golden virgin from back in the day.
It was destined for a pylon racer (airibuzzer) but got snookered by brushless so never ran.

Wait a minute, we gotta tighten up the voting parameters a little here...

Are we voting based on intended usage and performance, or are we voting based on how they look in a model on the shelf?

-Le Mans 480S < -- because it looks awesome and I have one in my Triumph shelfer.
-Le Mans 240s < -- because it looks awesome and I want one for my future Optima Mid
-Le Mans Pro High Torque < -- because they're rare and I want one in my future Lazer ZXR

...and to break all the rules and destroy the thread, here's my throw-in for the win:

18x2 2wd Off-Road Mega Motor < -- for my future super p!mped-out Kyosho Raider that I'll piece together one day

I forgot to mention that, in addition to motors with non-adjustable endbells, I ruled out all motors that didn't have ball bearings and/or were non-rebuildable...for me, that excludes all the ST versions. Those were also the far more common Le Mans motors, they were included in most kits, I believe. If you wanted a 240SB, 480S or T, 480 or 360 Gold, etc...you usually had to buy them separately. To rebuild the ST motors, you had to bend back the retaining tabs holding the plastic endbells on, and hope it held together when you bent them back. I'm actually surprised by the love for the ST's. :?

For me the 360ST and 240ST were iconic. I think because I'd seen how fast they were (relative to what I was used to at the time), but I think also Kyosho gave them the most exposure to a non-Kyosho follower. I feel like I remember seeing them in Tower all the time, a lot more than any of their other motors. I couldn't afford them either which made them exotic. I'm just really not very familiar with the line outside of those. And like you said, the 480T is green. That was all I went by on that one.
