Re: Turbo Optima Mid Special Build

From the looks, this is the Mid with the carbon chassis? For some reason, I though the name was different. I have one, but I got it in a trade so didn't build it myself. It's been a shelf Queen it's whole life.

I love that paint job though, did you do it?

Re: New old guy in the SE USA

Thanks.... Luckily, the Turbo Rocky just got cleaned/polished this past winter. It still has the dull "running" body, I just haven't gotten around to getting a replacement for it. But the rest looks great now. It's one of the few cars I didn't buy new, but traded one of mine for. I really ...

Re: Kyosho Slingshot

The original shocks on mine look like stock Kyosho Gold, bit IIRC, there were spacers on the inside to limit the travel. I bought the kit in Japan, so I can't read the manual to get exact numers. I think it's been run once in it's life, and has never had a body. I had one, but screwed it up trying t...

Re: UU's "Thundershot TRF Special"

I know, old thread, but I'm a newbie and just enjoying all the stuff I've missed out on. Pretty car, I like the paint job. I have a Thundershot at home....well, sort of. After the Thundershot came out, Tmaiya released the Terra Scorcher. The Shot had one yellow shock across the front, whereas the Sc...

Re: Monster Beetle

I still have mine, but it's in some rough shape. I gave it to my sone years ago, and he beat it pretty hard. When he got bored with it, I wound up with the remains. Nothing broken so much as to be unfixable, but a couple small parts missing. And it's not high on my list to get "restored" y...

Re: Next Kyosho Rere?!!!!

I never ran the original Optima - I managed to get hold of one of the "Gold Celebration 100,000" models, but other than special decal on the box, there's nothing to distinguish it from another "gold" optima. I don't think I'd buy a rere, and mine's still in mint condition, and th...

New old guy in the SE USA

Greetings, When I join bike sites, I have a prepared, amusing and totally fictional intro I usually post, but since this isn't a bike site.... So, where to begin...I started in RC while stationed in Japan in the lat 80's. We had a small track out behind the base hobby shop, and ran races once in a w...
