Re: Ryuz FF body?
Maybe I'm wrong...or possibly incorrect, I'm not sure, but wasn't the Maxxum FF before this one? I ran mine if the 2wd class till that ban came out, never saw another fwd in all that time.

Diff lube
Ok, I've been out of the hobby for some time, so all of the grease and oil I had is gone. I'm rebuilding my Thunder Shot/Terra Scorcher, and I'm wondering what grease to use in the diff. It's a stock gear diff, and I'm just rebuilding the car for the kids to play with when they're over so no racing ...

Re: Anyone have a Tamiya King Cab?
I've still got mine. I have the original unpainted body too. I didn't think I could paint it well enough at the time, so I picked up a stadium truck body for it. Never raced it, heck I hardly ran it around the yard. It's on the short list to go when I start thinning the herd.

Re: Project Clod
I remember the Double Dare coming out as the competitor to the Clod Buster. USA1 came later. The Big Brute and Hi Rider Vette were more the competition for the Blackfoot, Mud Blaster, Monster Beetle, etc... That's how I remember it - the USA-1 came out later when the DD couldn't hang. I've read tha...

Re: Project Clod
Oh yeah, I have that issue. Classic material. Trying to get my buddy who has a clean Double Dare to do a Clod vs DD shootout. As far as color, I'm leaning towards Tamiya light sand but my decision will be based on what's in stock at my LHS. I have the DD and Clod. I think I ran the DD 2-3 times tot...

Re: Tamiya King Cab with Stealth transmission conversion
Huh, can't say as I've ever had a problem with mine, but then it's been run maybe a dozen times or so in it's life. Whats the big fiberglass plate for?

Re: Backyard fun- Tamiya choices
My favorite races BITD were the "box stock". Bearings were allowed, but that was it - stock motors and mechanical speed control. We raced the lunchbox/pumpkins as well as the blackfoot/beetle and the Clods. My Thunder Shot held up well and was probably my favorite. I still have it, but lat...

Re: Kyosho Jaguar XJ220, Nissan 300ZX, Lamborghini Diablo
the other cars in the super scale series used the ultima II, Optima MID, and a later Raider variant chassis. they used a different type of spring loaded body mount along with usually a front hidden mount making it much easier to pop the bodies off to do what was needed to the chassis. I have one of...

Nice looking buggies. I have one of those on a shelf in the garage. It was the ex's and she never finished or ran it.
