Re: Just got this Kyosho Slingshot, advice needed
I got my Slingshot back when they came out. At the time in Japan, there weren't any oval specific bodies available, so I picked up a 1/8 rally body. Never painted it and only ran the car a couple times. Fast Forward a few years and back in the states, I picked up a nice oval style body and proceeded...

Re: Avante 1988
Nice looking Avante! I have one from 88 or so as well...ran a few times and it's been on a shelf since. Definitely a fragile vehicle.

Re: How the Clod shoulda been built
That's a prett good price for all that truck. Heck, I paid about 2/3 of that just for a stock Clod. Of course, that's what I was looking for, I want to have a stock, my time capsule, and then one or two builds like this. Thanks for the ideas. SFC K, you wouldn't happen to have any contacts over at r...

Re: Recently acquired an Optima - seeking some opinions
That's a custom chassis, never seen one like that for the Mid before. From what I can see, that looks to be an Optima Mid or Turbo mid chassis, there were no differences between those 2 chassis plates. Also, those rims are the originals with an Optima Mid, just painted silver. I'm with Coelacanth on...

Re: Optima is back!!
I wouldn't call Tamiyas "toys", I prefer to think of them as beginner to moderate skill RC. My absolute favorite races when I started in RC were the "box stock" class. Mostly a bunch of Tamiyas. We allowed bearings, but that was the only mod. Not really sure why not may Kyoshos w...

Re: Turbo Optima Mid SE Battery Question
Whats a good charger for charging any kind of battery? I like the iMax B6AC, it'll do NiCad, NiMH, LiPo and other kinds of batteries. It has balance and storage modes, important for LiPo batteries. And it's affordably priced. http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__58285__IMAX_B6AC_V2_Profession...

Just referring to this post, but I see you already covered it. Just misunderstood the original post.fastang wrote:I might have missed it but is there any word on production numbers? Is it going to be a limited run like the classic or are they going to keep making it until demand dries up like the worlds car?

Re: Optima is back!!
Geez, when I was in Japan (way too many years ago in the late 80's), the yen rate sucked, but the cars and parts were still way cheaper than buying them in the states. That's why I bought so many. (I was up to 36 at one point, now down to half that) Somewhere in this posting, someone said something ...

Re: The Fox.....low budget runner resto....
fun fact the fox was the first car to use the Tamiya Yellow CVA shocks :) and brought in a new era of chassis design for tamiya. (the next was the tamiya supershot) the fox also remains a one off car at a time where tamiya reused chassis for more then one application. even the 959 chassis was reuse...

Re: The Fox.....low budget runner resto....
At my age....handling is the least of my problems, I'm going for nice and easy, gone are the days of super fast motors and the latest technology and in are the days of 540 silver cans and long running slow time.... :o  I hear you, I wish there was somewhere around here to run/race these...

Re: The Fox.....low budget runner resto....
I had a Fox once, but at the time I didn't care for the handling. Don't recall if I sold or traded it. I do still have the manual and some spare parts for it laying around. I might even still have a spare body.
