Re: RCX 2024 in Pomona

Is anyone going? I will be with my son. How was it?! You mentioned no one had kits for sale but how was the show otherwise? Worth going to? All hype? Get any pictures? ...inquiring minds want to know. :D Really small. With parking at $18 I probably wasn’t going without the free tickets I got. Not e...

Re: So, what did you do RC today?

Went with my son, brother, and good friend to the RC expo in Pomona, and the off road expo also at the fairgrounds. Awesome day. My brother bought a FrSky air transmitter. Real nice one. USB trainer plug came with it. It makes my MT-4 look like garbage.

Re: What your workstation looks like?

What’s the wheelbase and track width on it? I’d figure add 3 inches to each side and a foot front and back?

Re: What your workstation looks like?

Rotate them 90 degrees and join 3 of them and you have 24” x 60” which is a bit larger then my current 20” x 60” harbor fright bench

Re: Lexan Body Trimming - Scissors or Sharp Blade?

I use Fiskars Micro Tip Titanium scissors for bodies. It’s really about the dual movement cuts for the round parts. Meaning you rotate the body with one hand as you cut straight with the other. That keeps from making corners that tear when you try to turn the scissors and stop.

Re: What your workstation looks like?

OK, I really need some ideas here for a new setup. I'll get this out of the way now, because I already know the most common response - I CANNOT BUILD A CUSTOM WORKBENCH . At this age, I know what I'm good at, and what I'll wind up paying someone to fix/finish after I screw it up. Building furniture...

Re: B4 front hex conversion using non-Associated parts

I’ve got 1 complete custom hex conversion in the BST section. There’s a video showing how to build it.

Picked up my son and daughter from school. Came home and handed my son the transmitter with throttle to 50%. No problem for him at all. He’s a natural.

Re: If I had a 3D printer…

It is beyond easy. Simple wheel/trans/servo adapters are one of the best parts of 3d printing. It seems like a learning curve. Lot of research. I would want really good resolution, large heated bed, and there’s so many out there now. Not to even mention the software and computer design to learn. Fi...

If I had a 3D printer…

I need to keep track of so much. One day I’ll have one, but if I don’t - feel free to profit off my ideas. On todays episode of if I had a 3D printer, I would print hex adapters for all the vintage front wheels of the world. https://i.postimg.cc/NFw8kHn0/0-AC2189-D-D41-F-46-F1-A98-F-602-FB2-B5...
