Re: My Vintage Hotshot 4WD

Yes. Just completed a build of the re-release Hotshot (with a few custom parts) and comparing the manuals with the original most parts are pretty much identical and therefore interchangeable. Have a look at the old and new manuals on line just to compare. upla.JPG I like that front bumper--which on...

Final tweaks: New wing, carbon shock tower and Team Car shocks. Black wheels and tyres from the 'The Box'.
Happy.

Re: 2wd SC10 transmission to RC10 gold pan

Finaly added a Mirage body and vintage wing. (A non-Associated black wing is on the way, just put the vintage one on for snaps)

Re: Optima Pro - belt drive

you can get the manual here for the belt drive. http://theoptimahouse.blogspot.com/2008/05/belt-drive-kit-for-optima.html you can also determine if it was the kyosho kit or aftermarket Great link. I now know that the belt drive on my vintage Optima/Turbo hybrid is the Option House version. Sweet.

Re: Tamiya Unimog CC01

Looking very good. I've been modding up a RTR version which came with a beautifully finished XB factory body that came with the windows nicely tinted. Dark enough hide the inside, but not blacked out. I have not ever seen any cab interior pieces from Tamiya, only those created by modellers later. DS...

Re: Optima vs Turbo Optima differences

Whipped the bash plate off this evening and sure enough, the rails and chain guide show signs of wear supporting the idea that it could well be a well-modded Optima. Also the fact that it had those custom wheels on it previously helps perhaps to indicate that the original owner was keen on mods. Add...

Re: RC10 out of storage at last

Looks great.... Spurring me on to completing the box-art body for mine. Seems like we all put off the bodywork until last!

Re: Optima vs Turbo Optima differences

Thanks Jirka. Good idea to check the frame rails. That could be the smoking gun. You got me thinking and I went a way back through ebay sold items for Optima and I found the car as it was previously sold before it came to me.(See picture) The guy I bought it from had stripped the body, wheels, shock...

Re: Optima vs Turbo Optima differences

Thanks, guys. That helps a lot.
I'm guessing the 'up' steering servo arm is also a mod a turbo owner might do as it is more direct than the stock down + z-arm.

I'm still going to give it an Optima body though, as it is my favourite and I'm not such a fan of the Turbo. 8)
