Re: 27 MHz vs. 75 MHz

I've been going through the piles of old radios and receivers I have laying around and came up with a nice Airtronics XL2P transmitter that is 27 MHz. After looking through all my receivers, I realized that I have over 40 in the 72 and 75 MHz variety and no 27 MHz. Is this just an anomaly that occu...

Re: A&L or MIP transmission ?

Hey Thanks for all the help guys. I never really got into the Losi stuff, it just wasn't popular in my area. So they sent me one other picture....not sure if it helps. Im going to try to snap it up anyway, might be fun to try a new brand

B&B MFG out of rowland heights CA

Hey all, So I picked up a battery charger for my collection made by a company called B&B manufacturing. Looks pretty typical of the AC/DC timers of the early to mid 1980's, but obviously aimed at the more serious racer with variable charge rate, discharge, etc. Plus it has the totally period nam...

Re: "Replica" of RC12e from my childhood

No worries, if you think of it, PM me your email and I will send you the PDF on monday. As for the batteries I believe Omni Models has the 1900 and 2400/2500 SCR cells. Maxx packs and Gulf Coast battery also sell a 2200 cell that is pretty nice and half the cost of the 2400 cells. There are industri...

Re: "Replica" of RC12e from my childhood

I just made up the artwork copied from an original cell tamiyadan had, and pictures of one he found on ebay, printed it on regular paper and shrunk wrapped clear over it. One of the original cells on ebay had a paper wrap with clear shrink on it, so it seemed to work out well and have the right look...

Re: Traxxas lawsuit against Hobbico

Interesting topic of patent law. Part of the reason Traxxas can do this is that patent laws have changed with regards to "prior art". Long story short and simplified, in years past it was the "first to invent" that had the first rights to patent. If they did not, nobody else coul...

Re: "Free Hand me down parts" rc10

I could use a shock rebuild kit ASC 6440 I could also use 2 gold shock caps, or 2 black shock caps or a set of 4 black plastic shock caps just so the shocks look a little better. Is there anything you still need? Ok let me dig through the parts box tonight after work, I know I have a bunch of shock...

Re: Source for NiMH subc cells?

Those no-name ebay cells are a complete waste. I have bought samples of most of them including the 6000 mAh cells and cycled/tested them. I think they came in around 1400 mAh capacity and had such high IR that they could barely push out 20A. If you want a decent NiMh to fit in place of the smaller c...

Re: Old chargers and mAh ratings?

It did exactly that. Dump out approx 1000mah worth of charge in 15 minutes. If you had 7 cell packs you usually added another 5 mins or more. Nicds were tough. Yes and they still are! I was pretty early into the use of lithium-Ion batteries for electric flight back in about 97, and for that applica...

GE Nicads and logos

Ok Guys....going back a few years here. Does anyone here have a good General Electric Sub-C nicad? I am looking to make repro stickers to make modern cells look the part for a RC12E project and would like to copy the original artwork. Also looking to see if anyone has any of the decals that said &qu...
