Re: Traxxas Transmitters

Well, the 2218 is discontinued and the Local doesn't have one. But the local is a traxxas power-up dealer so tomorrow I'm going down with the old transmitter and receiver and picking up a TQi 4 channel for $100 or so. Is it the best option? Not sure but I will have the option of telemetry and I'll h...

Spares

Since the LHS stocks nothing and I have to order everything what should I keep on hand as spares? C hubs, Arms F&R, mounts F&R, front tower... what else? Are the RPM arms worth ordering? I have them on every other car and haven't had issues. Titanium screw kits. I'm aware here is a FT Alumin...

Re: Traxxas Transmitters

That's only if I can find a 2218 local. I make sure I spend money at LHS but they are stocking less and less around me. One slow friday at work I had to deliver something. I went to 4 hobby shops looking to spend money. I bought one wrench. Worst case I'll have to order one if I can find it. Tower i...

Traxxas Transmitters

So yeah, I'm a moron and was in a rush and didn't do my research as I should have. I was planning on using the transmitter from my mrevo in my RC10 Worlds reissue. I didn't consult the compatibility guide and I bought a 6519 3 channel receiver. Unfortunately I have a 2238 Transmitter so I needed a 2...

Re: Battery cup options

I probably should have been a bit clearer. The LiPo I have is a full size 5200mah hardcase. It fits in the rear bulkhead fine and with a little persuading gets into the front cup. The servo is right up against the cup, actually deforming it slightly. That's something I seem to remember being an issu...

Battery cup options

Are there any options for the front battery cup? The stock one works but it's an extremely tight fit. It's also a bit tall and interfering with my hardcase LiPo. I may just get a stock replacement and cut it down but was wondering if there were aftermarket options.

Re: 4600 KV stealth gearing

AE is sneaky. I gave them my home shipping address for the replacement CV. I expected it to come to the house but nope, it just showed up at work today. Guess they looked up my email since I used my work one to make contact and got the shipping from there. Little weird but whatever, it took them les...

Re: 4600 KV stealth gearing

Didn't get my package and didn't work too much on on car this weekend. Something about the sun being out for the first time in a week. I have the electrics done and mounted, just have to get bored tonight and set all the trims and such. I have the 19t on it now but have some smaller ones ready to go...

4600 KV stealth gearing

I'm not in a super rush as I waiting for a package from AE to replace my incorrectly machined CV. I have my sidewinder 3 4600 kv combo here for my re-re worlds and I'm wondering where I should start pinion wise. The spur is the kit one and I'm running a 5200mah 50c 7.4 2c liPo. I'm thinking a 20t pi...

Re: tools fer cheatin!

We'll be up at Watkins a few times this year. Nationals is being held there so we need practice on the new pavement they just laid down. Watkins is one of my favorite tracks but with the blue bushes being so close it's scary as hell. One tiny mistake and there is a good chance you're going to bend y...

Re: tools fer cheatin!

I don't have much to add in the ways of RC rules interpretation but I know about 1:1 racing. I'm a crewchief for a NASA PTD/Spec 86 Cup car and I've been helping with timing and scoring for 10+ years. There is reading between the lines and outright cheating. If you want a really good book to read pi...

Re: RC10 Worlds car..... Setup/Problems

I actually ordered the 5700kv and canceled it and went with the 4600kv. I remember back in the day I nuked the diff in my JRX2 with a low turn modified. Ended up pleading with the family to take me to the hobby store while on vacation in order to buy a steel replacement. Turns out my sister's husban...

Re: ReRe steering bellcrank bearings

I originally wanted to get the bearings for the bellcranks but realized that the servos now have tons of torque and speed compared to the old days. Even an inexpensive one should have more than enough snot to turn undriven, tiny and light wheels. I went with a Savox SC-0253MG that hopefully should b...

Re: A-Main Bullet Fwd 4ws RC10 conversion Tribute build

I think getting that A-Main email with all the vintage re-re's was either the best, or worst thing that has happened recently. I was still a bit pissed I missed the original RC10 re-release and seeing the worlds car on sale lit the fire again. I forget just how many wacky conversions they had for RC...

Re: Electronics for a Worlds and a A stamp short arm

Well I will see. I ordered a sidewinder 3 and 4600kv this morning. Worst case I'll limit it a bit in the software.
