Blimey, that's the Mark Porter who raced V8's?
I had a conversation with Jason Richards (another one tragically not with us) about RC when he saw my Schumacher t-shirt at a V8 meeting.

Extreme Motorsports motors
Can anyone help with some info on Extreme motors please? I found pretty much nothing other than a couple of winds listed in the sticky in this section. Just got a couple as I remember seeing them in the magazines in the early 90's (I think) and I'm a sucker for nostalgia. Some guys used them success...

Re: The Official "What is it?" Thread
That would be too simple  A little confusion on the terms. The side links referred to on the R5 are the plastic rods that run front to rear next to the battery. Along with the centre pivot they do the same job the T-bar did. The linkages I think you're referring to on teh T-bar car are side dam...

Re: The Official "What is it?" Thread
Yep, the first of the 'R' range which replaced the 'L' names kits. First link car they did rather than T-bar
I was told the R stood for Road, and they wanted to change it as originally the L was for Losi as Gil Jnr designed the original RC12L

Re: TRX-3 wheels
Look forward to the build.
Found the hexes I used. 6mm and drilled out for the axle.
They give roughly the same offset with a modern wheel as the original wheels gave.

Re: TRX-3 wheels
Hi Chewie, Thanks for that. Will look into those. Trying to keep it bearing at the front as I don't really want to change the axles but may have to consider it. Got a TCP on the way so will try a few things when I get it. For some reason I have it my head that I fitted hexes to a TRX-1 I had a few y...

TRX-3 wheels
Wonder if anyone has experience of changing the rear wheels on a TRX-3 (or TRX-1) to hex fit please. With a 5mm axle and pin fitment as standard at the back I guess a hex could be added to mount modern wheels - but any idea if the modern offset would work? Front wheels should be easier as long as th...

Re: SACS system
Hmm, on power steering is good (especially with a rear motor on astro) but less keen on it not wanting to turn so much.
It's not fair - I want the best of both worlds!!!
Thanks for the response

SACS system
I remember having this back in the day but can't remember what car it would have been on - probably the RC10 conversion as I never had a Cougar 2000 variant. But I'm now thinking of getting a Cougar 2000 or Cougar 95. I have it my head the SACS was not good - gave understeer - anyone confirm what it...

Re: Old chassis and lipos?
It does depend what shape modern battery you're trying to put in. Many people who race modern classes will be using the low profile shorty batteries, these take the issue of height out of fitting into a vintage car - would still need to check for width. I've got a JRX2 and a non low profile shorty f...

My trio of Optimas
As if I didn't have enough cars already I've jumped into Optimas The first is an original Optima I've actually had for a while. This is the actual car that was winning at the local when I joined and got into the hobby back in 1986 :o Still chain drive and got the Le Mans 240S in it too Had to get a ...

Re: JRX-2 cheater + JRX Pro
Looks awesome! Interesting you've looked at moving the cells around. Mine was definitely better with the shorty forward compared to a standard length pack. A friend has just made an alloy chassis for his JRX2 and has offered to make one with a cut out for the gearbox - I'm seriously considering it! ...
