Re: Reducing speed for kids
***update*** The order of two 35T motors went extremly fast, got them by post within 12h ! So yesterday after a bit of bed-in, I replaced one of the Le Mans of my kid with this little 35T and ????? Well, still way too fast ! I don't have the feeling it goes much slower than the Le Mans 240ST which i...

Re: 9/11 Memorial
You guys from the US, if you only knew how on the other side of the Atlantic, we all were shocked just as you were. So far away... but so close in the heart. I still have this bright clear memory: driving back from work (11 am your time) on my daily routine and noticing how all cars and drivers were...

Re: Noobie: Restoring my first R/C - 1987 Kyosho Turbo Ulti
I think what I'm really struggling with is the electronics. I don't want to go back completely old school original, but I also do not want to spend a TON of money going with the latest and greatest. Can someone help me with recommendations or maybe has someone done a similar build? Hello, I am pret...

Re: Reducing speed for kids
 In addition of that good advise, the modern ESC features something I even didn't knowof my old days : now you can teach them to fully reverse back the throttle in case of emergency ! In the past that was bad cause reversing the gearing at full speed. But nowadays, since you setup ESC to backbr...

Re: Reducing speed for kids
Thank you for your answers. They actually are very small kids... 6 and 3.5 yo ! From what you wrote, I would try the otion: motor change. Why ? Cause that would make the trick of slowing down and... The LeMans 240ST (22T by the way) were not made to run for long periods and stop/accelerate/stop like...

Reducing speed for kids
Hello, on my Rockies 4wd Kyosho I put new Radio gear which offers the possibility to limit top speed. Nice but that is still too fast for my kids... image.jpeg What options would I have ? -motor change ? The genuine period LeMans 240ST could be replaced by slower one ? Can you please advise me on wh...

Re: Kyosho Rocky 4wd..... I think?
Hello, that's interesting. On the other hand, it looks like nothing "perfect" exists and whether the case, would not be an easy fit. Then I still continue to think that a 3D printed part would be the best option: so cheap to produce (about than 1 $ each) with a design that can be just perf...

Re: Vintage Rocky 4WD (Kyosho) back on the road
Hi guys, finally had the time to re-assemble the last Rocky. I am still missing a few details (save servo, Beta pin, notor connexions...) to make it run but we are almost there. Another funny strange thing on these Rockies is that -even in the 80's when the batteries were slightly thinner- the chain...

Re: Kyosho Rocky 4wd..... I think?
I would prefer do the "bulky" version as you advise but with lateral open-ends, pushed into the arm and screwed on a common thread axle.

Re: Vintage Rocky 4WD (Kyosho) back on the road
Thank you. Yes, me the same. Looks nice in white. Just the blue strip on the wing are in wrong direction... Yellow is "original" but not the best scheme, agree. And in addition, because we need to distinguish from each others, only one will be in yellow (pics. to come). The other is,...

Re: Kyosho Rocky 4wd..... I think?
Something like this ? Beefy. Delrin open ends perpendiculary to the arm. But you see, I am not sure that would be strong enough caused by the 90° torque from the wheels pushing the Delrin on their sides... knowing that there is not MUCH space to drill in the threads for those two... not sure it is t...

Re: Vintage Rocky 4WD (Kyosho) back on the road
Hi, yes I did find useful information in their database. Really awesome website on the documentation side ! Reading articles from the 80's on our beloved is a pure enjoyment... You know, even if they are not "pure" NIB, I still feel a bit concerned because the two additonal Rockies are in ...

Re: Vintage Rocky 4WD (Kyosho) back on the road
Hi, wish I would  As said, brave depends how you deal with the risks. You can look very brave but have planned a safety plan and escape so, yes, brave apparently but in fact, "brave with a plan". Wealthy: a NIB Rocky costs between 900$ and 1000$. I paid only a fraction for those, whic...

Re: Kyosho Rocky 4wd..... I think?
This is what I'm trying to convey- even tho I drew the servo link end on the wrong side lol Looking at your suggestion twice... I think the idea to turn 90° the ball joint is a good idea to limit the space taken by the part. But on the other side, it does create a weakness in the sense that it is m...
