Re: TQ10 restoration
Did you use peroxide to clean and whiten the parts? This seems to be the consensus from what I have read, and I need clean up some RC10 parts myself.

Re: Kyosho Nostalgic Series Daytona Cobra Project
The small test area of buffing using a dremel polishing wheel did show promise, so I will probably continue down that road for the moment. I might also try some wet sanding first on the worst spots if necessary. My plan is to fill the holes with some custom cut lexan pieces that are pre-painted and ...

Re: Kyosho Nostalgic Series Daytona Cobra Project
you can clear polycarbonate that has been etched with methylene chloride from what I understand. it's pretty nasty stuff but certain places can do it. might be worth a phone call. chemical polishing is what it is called. this is used all the time for machined parts that need to be optically clear a...

Re: Kyosho Nostalgic Series Daytona Cobra Project
Maybe you should still consider painting the body on the outside. That would also let you fill in the holes on the roof properly, by adding new panels and then using a filler to have a smooth transition. Painting the body on the outside is an option if painting on the inside doesn't come out decent...

Nice that you can get your kids involved. Mine are both in high school, so their phones are all they want to do these days.

Re: Kyosho Nostalgic Series Daytona Cobra Project
The next step will be experimenting with removing the cloudy haze from the Lexan. Certain paints adhere to the lexan more and are more prone to this issue. The windows which were apparently later painted over with an unknown black paint seem to have the worst hazy appearance. I need to get some more...

Re: Kyosho Nostalgic Series Daytona Cobra Project
I'll give it a shot. My work time is expensive, my hobby time is extremely cheap. Removed most of the inside and outside the body. Started with a graffiti removal spray that says its Lexan safe. Finished off with some Dot 4 brake fluid for the stubborn spots. A few small places to go yet, but gettin...

Re: Servo Survey
Solar servos have served me well on a few of my cars, for around $20-25. Metal gears and ball bearings. I use the Solar D772 in some my crawlers, bashers. The D771 is faster if you need something with less torque and more speed.

I have one of these on the way, so not much help. The original one I have coming has wheels like these, not sure if that answers your question though. Looking forward to seeing how it turns out.

RC10 Manual Speed Control
I have a manual speed control in a Gold pan RC10 I recently picked up. I would like to keep this simply for the vintage appeal, knowing that it will not be as functional as a newer ESC. This will be a model mostly for display anyway. I tried searching in this section without luck. Is there anything ...

I recently picked up an RC10 and RC10T. I was a little less interested in the 10T project until I saw this. Nice work.
