Re: My RC10 World's Re-Re Pre-Build Q's
I'm going to keep an eye on tower....Of course I can swear that I didn't make that mistake but who knows? I was busy figuring out how many bearings I needed... Also notice the more economical bearing choices now? Ironically, decided to get the bearings for my Tamiya kit just go take advantage of the...

Re: My RC10 World's Re-Re Pre-Build Q's
Speaking of bearings....Got some as part of a small shipment from Tower. Not for my RC10, but for my soon-to-arrive Tamiya Mercedes-AMG GT3 #58639. Going to be busy... The loot on the left is for the RC10. Unfortunately (or fortunately), I accidentally hit "2" for the spur and the th...

Re: My RC10 World's Re-Re Pre-Build Q's
So..went to my LHS, which is always dangerous. Instead of ordering the Avid bearings from online, I bought these Boca bearings: https://www.bocabearings.com/products/fr168-2gs-2604 They are 4x's more expensive but I like supporting my LHS for odds and ends like this and I assume these are better......

Re: Fresh Worlds build and a few questions
Yeah, the specs say 7.5 inches but looks shorter to me...Because of my Rx location, mine only sticks out about 3" but doubt I have 4.5" inside the chassis....Anyways, I guess it all depends on the Rx location.

Re: My RC10 World's Re-Re Pre-Build Q's
Got it. Thanks for the summary. I guess I will have no use for the RR spur and will return it.
I'm usually pretty good at getting the right items, hard not to thanks to the internet and forums! But you know..when you step into a LHS...mind goes crazy and wallets stay open!

Re: My RC10 World's Re-Re Pre-Build Q's
computer stores are a great source for those thumb screws in a 3mm, which is fully compatible. Probably even find them at a Best Buy! Case modders like them Thanks for the tip! Good choice! Boca's are great bearings. Plus they are sealed. You shouldn't have any problems with those. That's a good st...

Funny..I got the R204GF-E because it has internal....guess i like the cleanliness of no antenna...
I do have the R203GF in my Hotshot. Just note that the antenna is VERY short. I didn't even use the antenna stand in my HS...

Re: My RC10 World's Re-Re Pre-Build Q's
On page 18 of the owner's manual it has a gearing chart for various motors. For 17.5T they suggest 30/81 as a starting point. That gearing is recommended for zero timing (ie. spec class). My esc and motor are locked at zero timing for stock spec-class racing. So for more speed, I had to change the ...

Re: My RC10 World's Re-Re Pre-Build Q's
All, I finally got a chance to open the box and dig through the parts. I see 4 1/4" by 3/8 flanged bearings in the parts bag but I only see needing 2 in the instructions. How many do I need? I assume 2 and the other are spares? Next question is about the pinion. Is the appropriate method for ch...

Re: Fresh Worlds build and a few questions
Thanks! That's very helpful. Part of my research is to figure out why we upgrade. I understand, conceptually, that is is mostly about performance (speed, durability, handling, etc) with some aesthetics added in. But what each component does is what I want to start to get a handle on (there's so much...

Can you tell me what the JC diamond nose brace tubes does compared to stock? Besides sexier, is it stronger? I assume a major reason is it's lighter?
Thanks!
