Re: Tools!
I have a fine tip jewelers flat head for removal of clips/rings. The tip is very small, and just a little twist will start to remove it and then use it to pull it off the shaft. Also for eclips I have a very fine point set of needle nose pliers that work well as a long as the eclip isn't really flus...

This was RIT dyemore royal purple ... all in one batch. Parts were cleaned and peroxided before. It came out pretty good IMO.

Re: Which exact black Rit-Dye to tint old AE nylon? (And how?)
FYI, Walmart is probably the best/cheapest place to get more RIT dyes. For some dumb reason though, the one 1/2 mi away doesn't stock the Synthetic Dyemore. Another a few miles away stocks both but in separate areas. Anyway, order online and pickup via walmart is usually the fastest/easiest that I'v...

Re: New to me RC10 Team Car on the way
Kimbrough, Robinson, and AE have all been good form me. Back in the day I had Trinity Magic spurs which were awesome in the pan car and my 6gear CE. A little wobble is almost unavoidable in the older stealths with the 2 screws. The new clamping v2 slipper can reduce this I've found. More important t...

I think IRS made a ceramic diff / fiberglass axle kit...
come to think of it... i wonder if it's in my box somewhere... I know i sold the car, but i still have a small box of pancar parts...

Re: Tools!
I got the new AE multi driver pictured and it's great. I still use the old AE invidual anodized allen drivers on the bench.
4.5" channel locks are definitely useful in many situations. Add the long/fine needle nose... that'll get you through most scenarios.

Re: Dug out my old RC-10
The jump in performance from the Novak T4 to the M5 back then was huge. I loved the M5 for stock racing. Think it had something to do with the FET technology they were using. For LiPo charging for just "fun"... If you have a local LHS and/or Track, go see what they use/recommend. In the $6...

Re: Dug out my old RC-10
I've built 3 ReRe's and still have 3 more (2 NIB). Each of the 3 I built had a bad topshaft. 2 had really lousy cases... AE was kind enough to send parts to replace the case, topshaft, and idler. I've since bought a couple of each anyway as spares. The first time I tried to just swap the topshaft......

Re: What is a good transmitter?
When I was jumping back into things I picked up the FlySky GT3C (or something) for cheap... And I've bought like 4 additional receivers for a total of like $25 more. I will say I was hesitant with a cheap radio like that, but I've used it now for a handful of race weekends, bench testing, and playin...

Nice build. The 6gear CE was my first car. I hope to recreate that car in the not to distant future.

I'll vouch for those Towers too... Tons of cars had them at the VONATS this year. I really like them.
