Re: It's back to the 80's - or What to do with a Trackmaster belt drive

They just added a dirt oval to a track near me and I'm geared up to try. But based on their classes, not sure which one I want. Most classes seem to make you run stock chassis/suspension without any custom mods. Batseries must be centered... Etc. So may go RC10 Sprint car, but I still can't use my t...

Re: It's back to the 80's - or What to do with a Trackmaster belt drive

I used to have the belt drive in my dirt oval car and it was awesome. They actually "outlawed" it in stock class at the local track growing up cause I was so match faster than all the stock cars and they deemed it unfair. I acquired a car not too long ago that has the direct drive transmis...

Re: New bolt-in mid motor conversion project

(btw, I love the SSC10 and have several of them) mk-Zero, the SSC10 is just a special flat, but thick milled aluminum chassis for the RC10. Please correct me if I'm wrong, but the stock holes that the kit uses are the same arm, tranny, and bulkhead mounts to the chassis. My only concern is that beca...

Re: 2017 Vintage Off-Road Nationals - R/C Excitement, Inc. Fitchburg, MA - September 15-17

That's sweet!

I'm trying to get my crap together. I just ordered another ESC/motor, transponder and servos for my Worlds SSC10 and the 10T I hope to run. I don't have a car for Saturday right now, but was looking at used Tamiya in the LHS that was ready to run...

Re: 3D Printed Stainless Steel Outdrives

If they work, i'd be up for a set or two... cause I have a pair of transmissions to rebuild with absolutely shredded outdrives.

Un-Tweaking Aluminum Chassis / Nose

Often the back "curl" of an RC10 tub gets the corner tweaked. Also on a DS, I have 4 of 6 nose plates with tweaked corners. Even some RC10 Nose plates can get a bad tweak from a hard it. But especially for my DS nose plates that are so hard to find a replacement for, I'd like to straighten...

Re: Worlds Re-Re Gearbox

Yeah... Of the two kits I've built so far... one spun but was rough... the other was total junk. So I pre-emptively ordered a handful of extra cases, idlers, topshafts... :-/

The black tires and stainless steel screws would be the contrast. :)

Re: 3D Printed Stainless Steel Outdrives

I've got almost all the bits in triplicate (or better) to rebuild/update a stealth... EXCEPT them damn outdrives! :)

Project Purple Build

I know it's blasphemous to do... but I did it anyway. Still have my best original white parts cleaned and on the shelf for another build. These were the more dinged / discolored parts that didn't clean up as well. Anyway, on to the idea... PURPLE. Everything. The main plan is... Dyed Purple Plastic ...

Re: 3D Printed Stainless Steel Outdrives

They do look incredible. Yeah, with 3d printing anything with any method and going for super-tight tolerances... always takes a few iterations. In some of our prototyping I've seen people build in the extra and then "machine" it down via lathe, sanding etc to get the exact fit and sometime...

Re: 2017 Vintage Off-Road Nationals - R/C Excitement, Inc. Fitchburg, MA - September 15-17

I guess someone showed up last year with basically bald kit tires and thought they'd be legal. Nope. I'm gonna knock the "newness" off of mine out in the street before I head up, but I won't be getting crazy with it. Just a pair of scuffs... maybe take a little wire wheel on the dr...
