Re: Are we ready to add an RC10T ReRe section?

I haven't owned or driven an AE buggy since the late 80's. I purchased a CC and a 40th, I'm looking forward to adding the RC10T to the to do list :D BTW... This is my first post on rc10talk and I just wanted to Thank You all for the great information as I dive back into my childhood dreams! Alan We...

Re: Are we ready to add an RC10T ReRe section?

Well, it's the 15th and we're venturing into "late June" territory.
Man, this month is dragging.

Re: Are we ready to add an RC10T ReRe section?

I am so happy to see that Cliff and Curtis are still involved with AE -- with Cliff as senior engineer consultant and Curtis as racing product development director. According to Linkedin, former company president Shawn Ireland left AE late last year and even former marketing director Jeff Johns (Axi...

Re: What size pinion?

FWIW, I run my brushed motors (15t - 27t) with 4000mah lipos for roughly 10 - 15 minutes per run and motor heating isn't a problem. For my track, 8:1 is much too tall and would probably cause some overheating within 10 minutes. It's best to start with a small pinion and work your way up. Running you...

Re: What size pinion?

It depends upon the type of surface and size (grass, tarmac, dirt, flat vs. jumps, tight twisty track vs. a wide open field or parking lot). For my small backyard track, I usually aim for roughly 10:1 FDR to start then gear-up based on motor temp and how early the motor revs peak through the long st...

Re: So, what did you do RC today?

Silvertriple- what is this car? One of the few scratch builds of Evage, one of the guys from rc-vintage.com almost local to the meeting... You may see it on his table with others of his work.... https://imgur.com/OMc3NOE.jpeg Lots of interesting RC's on that table but my eye immediately goes to the...

Re: Associated RC-1 Ad

Oh man, this takes me back. I've probably shared this before but I was riding with my dad in Springfield Il around that time when we notice a crowd forming at the JCPenny's parking lot on the corner of S. Grand and Dirksen Pkwy. They were racing these cars and it was probably my first exposure to RC...

Re: RC10 - A Stamp Rebuild - Chipped Idler Gear

FWIW the original AE steering bellcrank is bright white and a much harder plastic. Fan RC is not the correct color. It's possible he did that on purpose or decided to use the same nylon as the other parts. AE_bellcrank.JPG That's all true and the original parts were not reinforced and were known to...

Re: Masami's CAT

I assumed Masami's CAT would be the holiest of holies within Schumacher. On the contrary, the current crew seems to know very little about it. I guess that is racing: if it isn't winning races now, it is just an old car. The video is still good to watch, as it gives a closeup view of the actual cha...

Re: RC10 - A Stamp Rebuild - Chipped Idler Gear

Not familiar with Jammi'n products so I had to look it up.
This looks like a well-engineered kit:

In a way, it seems a shame that the Stealth tranny has rendered it obsolete.

Re: RC10 - A Stamp Rebuild - Chipped Idler Gear

... This does look like the best idea to lock the rings permanently, it would be easier to mark the hubs and file them, than it was to drill and CA them; and with the D-rings the pin or set screw can't fall out or deform over time. Seriously considering doing this, by leaving the set screw on the o...

Re: The dog thread

Our Audrey passed away tonight. We were getting ready for bed, going out to potty. She turned around to come back in and stood in front of my wife and just passed out. Couldn't get he breathing again. Took her to the emergency vet, but she was gone. Having her cremated. I'm so very sorry for your l...

How are they held in place - Can you show a close up? Thanks limestang Just some scrap lumber, screws and nails. I've tried to keep it simple and easy to reverse. runner storage 3.JPG runner storage 4.JPG All of them are screwed into studs which should be on 16" centers but, looking at the une...

Re: So, what did you do RC today?

Well, not just today but over the past several days.
I've taken a big step toward resolving my runner RC storage dilemma.
Most of them are now hanging from the walls in the garage.

It's nice to finally reclaim some closet and attic space. :D
