I have a question... maybe Jeff can answer it for me?
Shimming the rear axle in the trailing arms. How much play should I have? Is .010" ok?

Re: Factory Works/A&L C2 build...
Timmahhh - Thank you for your visit to my thread. I have a Novak 25.5 Ballistic Boss motor and a HobbyWing XERON XR10 Justock ESC with LCD program box. It would be very cool to use that because... it's a Novak! Reedy ESC's do command a high price. I have a Blackbox 410R in my other buggy with a Reed...

Re: Factory Works/A&L C2 build...
Yes, I'll get some more pinions. To bad I can't trade all these big tooth ones for smaller.

Re: Factory Works/A&L C2 build...
I checked my stash, nothing but small spurs and big pinions... bummer. I've ordered an 87T Kimbrough spur gear.

Re: Factory Works/A&L C2 build...
Thanks for the help.
I'm going to dig deep in my old TC4 touring car box, maybe there's some 48P gears in it that I've forgotten about.
Yes, 64P would not be good to use but I have a lot of it stashed away with an AE RC12R5.2 on road car.

Re: Factory Works/A&L C2 build...
1. I will be using lipo (shorty) batteries. 2. I went with the 27T brushed motor to prevent hurting the Lethal Weapon transmission with to much power? I can, and have a 17.5 brushless motor to use but wound have to open up the top slot on the motor plate for the 3mm screw. I'm not afraid to do that ...

Re: Factory Works/A&L C2 build...
USPS delivers "epic" goods this morning... Got a brushed motor now, Trinity EP 1111 27T. Combined with a 81T/29T 48P gives me a 6.201 ratio. Am I in the "ballpark"? I'm not racing (unless against my own buggies) around my backyard. http://imageshack.com/a/img922/2392/hxVwjo.jpg I...

Nickel plated dogbones... wow, that is nice! I cut the battery cups so a shorty lip battery fits in length, did some cool holes on the ends. Next is getting the holes drilled to mount them to the chassis. That's going to take some serious planning so I don't mess up! http://imageshack.com/a/img924/6...

If you don't want to want on the 3PV backorder, here's a seller that I recommend. I buy from him pretty much weekly. There's only four left at the time of this post. https://www.amazon.com/Futaba-3-Channel-Computerized-Transmitter-Receiver/dp/B01IRIX7BK/ref=sr_1_11?m=A1YLD6DK9B7ZV6&s=merc...

Re: Factory Works/A&L C2 build...
I cleaned up the dogbones ( a little rust in spots) with a dremel wire wheel, cleaned with acetone and applied a treatment of EEZOX to help prevent rust. This stuff is great, been using it for years on all types of stuff. http://imageshack.com/a/img922/9195/u3i1fg.jpg I think I'll work on the batter...

Re: Mat's World's ReRe - Build #2 - RaceReady
I'm debating if I want to order one of his fabricated motor guards or do what the original SSC10 builds did, aka chop the tail off a chassis. I do have a good donor chassis that has a straight tail but is otherwise hacked and scuffed to be otherwise useless. If the "donor" chassis is of n...

Outstanding! I've subscribed to your build in order to watch how the SSC10 chassis goes together.

Re: New member in Washington
I see from the picture you may have some rusty hardware. I'd not waste the time (considerable amount of if it was me) on it, just replace them. If you don't have a local source for say... 4-40 size, take a look at the link. I buy from them all the time. http://stores.ebay.com/MonsterBolts/US-Inch-So...

Ah yea, lots of fun to be had! Time to get some zip loc baggies and take it apart for cleaning.
