Re: Landjump 4D

Okay, so the Landjump arrived and I’m pretty pleased with it. It’s going to take a lot of cleaning up but on the plus side, it looks to be all there apart from the driver and air filter. I’ve started stripping it, think I’m going to look for a stainless steel nut and bolt kit for it. The roll cage h...

Re: Landjump 4D

Thanks for the welcome back, appreciate it.
There’s some great Kyosho builds on this group, hopefully this will be one too.
Looking forward to it arriving and getting stuck into tearing it down.

Landjump 4D

Hello everyone, it’s been a while. I’ve just purchased a Landjump 4D. It hasn’t arrived yet so I’m waiting with anticipation. I’ve always fancied one of these and this one came up so decided to take the plunge. I plan on restoring it and adding it to my now mainly Tamiya vintage collection from the ...

Decided to sell Kyosho Collection in the Autumn

Well, thought I would let everyone know Why I haven’t been on here for a while, and the reason being I decided to sell up my collection of Kyosho RC cars. Not for any major reason, just a number of circumstances that made me decided the time was right. So the following all went on eBay The Turbo Bur...

Re: Kyosho Burns MP-1 Restoration

You’ve done a nice job on the body shell, the box art colours is a tricky job.
I’ve just painted the same body in early Yuichi Kanai colours

Re: Kyosho Turbo Burns - New Rebuild

That is a piece of art!
Outdoor photographs really do it justice.
Think I’m going to have to hunt out another set of rear wheels for the front, love the look.

Re: Turbo Burns OS Max 21 EX connecting rod

Well I thought I would share with everyone the final demise of this beloved engine. After carefully restoring it to it’s former glory, new bearings front and rear, new connecting rod, piston sleeve re-sized and assembled. Please see the picture below. Listed and sold within a couple of days on eBay ...

Re: Kyosho Burns MP-1 Restoration

He does a fantastic job, I’ve had a turbo Burns and an mp5 shell from him, both top notch.
Check out his website from the previous reply.

What cracking job you’ve done and in so little time.
Have you got a body shell for it?

Re: Kyosho Burns MP-1 Restoration

Progressing nicely there. What engine do you have, looking at the first photograph it looks like an early OS model, but can’t tell. If it’s seized, try removing the heat sink (head) and the back plate if you can. Spray some release oil in, it’s probably the bearings that are the problem. Try rocking...

Re: Kyosho Burns MP-1 Restoration

Looks really good there, you’re moving along quickly.
When you’re on a roll, you just want to keep cleaning and rebuilding.
Yours is definitely a Burns, the chassis is straight at the rear, where as the turbo Burns has the triangular tabs sticking out.

Re: Kyosho Burns MP-1 Restoration

Hi, will be following this build with interest. Looks like your Burns isn’t in bad shape at all. Looking good already, liked your working in the house comments, struck a chord with me, the mrs defo wouldn’t allow me to be stripping rc cars in the living room, banished to the garage. I’ve rebuilt a T...

Re: Turbo Burns OS Max 21 EX connecting rod

I know, it’s nagging me too. I did use rayaracing a long time ago, did a great job, reasonable turnaround too considering I’m in the UK, Trouble is I’m getting into how much to spend on this engine. Only paid £20 for it initially, £25 for the conrod, bearings ?? and then re sizing, where do I draw t...
