Ok, i'll bite. Has that Parma motor been serviced by Mick Goddard??
It's certainly an MG label on it but I'm guessing it is on there just because it was sold through his shop. It's a stock motor with bushings & I haven seen any signs of it being worked on.

Re: Your top five cherished RC (by manufacture) in a collection?

I was really torn leaving out my AYK Sidewinder ... Tough choice . The AYK Sidewinder & Bobcat are great looking cars for their time. I included it in my list because it was the first car I bought for racing. I thought the all alumunium chassis/shocks looked awesome back then compared to the Ta...

Re: Your top five cherished RC (by manufacture) in a collection?

Out of the cars that I own (19), my top 5 favourite shelfers would be:

AYK Bobcat.
Associated RC10 gold pan (short arm).
Schumacher CAT SWB.
Schumacher C car.
Associated RC12L Graphite.

I've no plans to sell the others either though. :)

Re: What Speed Controllers Were Available Circa 1980?

This is circa 1980, one of the first commercially available in the UK. Lots of drivers were using Parma type resistors well after the introduction of esc's.

Smooth-Tronic. Early UK made speed control.

As per title, an early esc by I & D electronics, also responsible for the Spectron lexan car. Haven't had a good look at it yet or tried to see if it works. The Parma motor looks to have been supplied by MG. It's not overly massive considering it's in a case. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/...

Re: 1986 'Penn Models' Touchtronics VF8 (V-FET) ESC

Looks a nice esc & early in FET use. Was quite a price at the time at £85. If I remember correctly, the Demon King esc was around the £45 mark.

Re: Ofna Ultra MBX 1/8 buggy

I've got an early Ofna Ultra LX Pro. It was a nitro truck that I converted to GT8E spec. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/51975641427_f92b4c3777_k.jpg https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/51977210620_517eb6df23_k.jpg https://live.staticflickr.com/7872/47288262362_a8c961b1be_k.jpg https://live.stat...

Re: What to do with an RC10 Graphite chassis with gold guard?

Mine started in exactly the same way with a bare chassis a few spare parts I had. The rest I purchased as & when they came up at a reasonable price.

Re: Pb Mini Mustang Survivor

I hadn't seen your other thread until now but I saw the car on ebay with the gold Brimods. I did think about bidding on it but am not really looking to add any cars to the collection as it's at 17 now & any more will cause me storage issues.

Great that they ended up with you. 8)

Re: Newbie question about pancar body painting

I've had the same issue previously, on a white wing, I painted that area on the outside but recently did a 1/12 pan car body & did as follows: Once the paint is dry enough to put masking tape on it, mask up the whole area where you have full paint coverage just leaving the transparent bits showi...
