Re: Schumacher Cat/Cat XL/Cat XLS Parts

Yea, I think most of the parts starting with "U" are for the more modern cars.

Re: Exact difference between XLS / XL / SWB

The C.A.T. (Competition All Terrain - aka SWB) was obviously the first car to be released. It was a quick car in the right hands, but was very twitchy and took a lot of concentration to keep it on the track. Schumacher released an XL Long Wheelbase conversion kit for it, comprising: 1" longer ...

Re: Schumacher Cat/Cat XL/Cat XLS Parts

A lot of the parts are interchangeable between them. An XL is basically a SWB with a longer chassis/topdeck, main belt and cover plus body and undertray. BITD Schumacher sold a LWB upgrade kit for the SWB's to make them more drivable. An XLS is a hotted up XL. It came with all the factory upgrade pa...

Those thiings are bizarre with how they use plastic flex for the suspension arms to hinge off the chassis.

Re: Not just another Fox Resto...!!

Can I also ask how you found the Fox compared to other cars when racing? What was good/bad about it (in terms of performance) in comparison to its peers? I didn't really race mine for long before getting a Cat XL, but I spannered for my brother when he raced my old Fox for a season in the budget st...

Re: Not just another Fox Resto...!!

That is pretty different and cool, love the rims. Though not sure if I'm a fan of the upright front shocks, they take away from the sleekness of the Fox. If you are going to run it, I would be looking at a way of bracing those front shock towers to the main tub part of the chassis. The front of the ...

Re: CAT xls DUO.

It was nice to meet up with you yesterday Jason. Not often you see so many old Cats together.

Hopefully next time we meet up, we can get some shots of the old Cats in action. Maybe I'll even bring another Cat or two along. Boondall sounds great to me. :D

Re: CAT belt pitch

Found a bit of info on the high torque diff and belt conversion released by Schumacher for the procat and earlier cars. :) Jeroen previously submitted the following scan. http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n227/JEROEN206/PICT0197.jpg From here: http://www.rc10talk.com/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=5287&am...

Bender, that was what Schumacher called them at the time, not my terminology.

Re: CAT belt pitch

The procat belts might be 0.0816"... Just remembered BITD that they released the high torque belts with the Procat, which had a slightly larger more rounded tooth. I remember I had issues running an MMS layshaft with Procat belts and diff... It created more drag and pushed up the free amp draw ...

Re: CAT belt pitch

They are MXL belts from memory. Probably looked at the things thousands of times, and MXL just leaps to mind. MXL is 0.08" from a quick google search. Maybe have a look at a Cat manual online to double check. EDIT: Just had a quick search. Have a look at one of the parts list pages from the XLS...

Re: RPS SE Yokomo option chassis LOTS OF PHOTOS WARNING!!!!!

Nice car. That chassis came up good.

Looks like you need to pump up the tyres. :P

Don't the rims on those things have grooves to take the tyre bead? I notice in pics of a lot of these early yokes that the tyres don't sit on the rims the best.

Re: Non-inline steering blocks still available?

You could maybe try adapting the axle/steering blocks from a tamiya hornet/wildone.

Was a long time ago now, but I remember guys running these BITD to allow inline axles and the use of tamiya fox front rims.

Re: BORMAC's JRX-2 vintage race car.

That's a nice looking JRX-2 you have there bormac. The (electric) Duratrax Evader BX rims should fit it nicely I would say. On the back of my Evader BX Pro, I'm running a set of old Trinity 2.2" rims which were designed for the Losi JRX Pro/SE. The old Trinity rims are a lot stronger than the e...
