Lucky find and nice job! Do you know what the muffler is? Is it the FM-217?

Re: Kyosho Turbo Burns - New Rebuild

Yes, there is no right answer. Now that you mentioned the SCC (special champion car)... Is that an actual T.Burns version? I always thought it was an arbitrary thing taken from a french magazine article. I mean, is there an actual box that says Special Champion Car on it? The wikipedia article also ...

Re: Kyosho Turbo Burns - New Rebuild

On the other hand it does open a whole other can of worms. For example, I also use the T.Inferno shocks and ball bearing servo saver towers on my T.Burns... they are BSW parts.

Re: Kyosho Turbo Burns - New Rebuild

I say If it's a bsw part, it fair game. People running the T.burns used it at the time. I run with it on mine still :P

Could those be the rear view mirrors Yuichi Kanai wears on his lexan bodies? :D

Re: Kyosho Turbo Burns - New Rebuild

I have a slightly used BSW19, but I'm guessing you want a mint one. I also have a long front shock tower, new in bag for the T.Burns, if you're interested. If you want to use that shock tower, you'll need an extra pair of rear shocks and I so happen to have an extra pair. The only part that's not mi...

Re: Kyosho Turbo Burns - New Rebuild

No sweat. We're all here if you need any tips on painting and triming. This is a picture from a race at a local track. Racing against inferno MP9's!
Oh and since you asked about transmiters... I use the Futaba ft-t3pb.... Pure vintage awsome-sause that can be converted to 2.4ghz.

If you're not in a hurry, sure I can paint one for you. I suppose you can have Marwan ship a TB lexan to me so I can work on it. We would have to discuss the price of course (materials, work, shipping).

Re: Kyosho Turbo Burns - New Rebuild

If I'm not mistaken, pactra has discontinued their line of trim tapes. You can find them on Ebay of course. I've only ever bought them in auction-lots on ebay to save on the expense. Elitemodelsonline.co.uk seems to cary the same line now under another name (trimline). Royal Blue, sky blue and black...

Thanks!
Yes, the order you're describing sounds about right. I also used some mat varnish to dull the windows in the end.

Re: Kyosho Turbo Burns - New Rebuild

You can pretty much sand the edges to perfection if your cuts are not all there. Kyosho even has a special sanding tool for that. The box art is micron line tape with sky blue and blue. Pactra trim line can also be used with pactra blue streak and tamiya sky blue... and white of course. Some lines a...

Re: Kyosho Turbo Burns - New Rebuild

Yep, we know all about those irritating decisions we have to make sometimes. As per the instructions you have to trim the side-guard to fit the exhaust, just as you have trimmed it to fit the body and chassis anyway. The only problem would arise if you changed to a muffler with a spout coming out fr...

Re: Sealing Nitro USA-1 Diffs?

Hey Jim, The older diffs with two spider gears don't have a very good seal to begin with. You can probably make a better flange your self, but you can at least apply "silicone cement" on either side of the flange and around the screws, as per the instructions in the Turbo Inferno manual (s...

Re: Kyosho Turbo Burns - New Rebuild

Looks great!

Did you cut the exhaust spout?

The colours don't look too bad, but they should be easy to tweak in photoshop or your cameras software anyway.

I'm installing the same chassis. I'm literally finishing it tonight, so it can see some action at the track tomorrow.
