Re: What a trip

awesome find - the kind of stuff that brings tears to your eyes, eh? This weekend I had an EP touring car race, where I invited the guy who got me into racing in 1995, till then I had just bashed in the backyard. I hadn't seen him since 2002 as we live in different countries. He came with his 12-y.o...

Re: Restored LXT

Contact Eau Rouge here in the forums. He has (had) replacement screw kits made up a while ago. When I joined a few months back I bought a couple of sets from him that are now on my rides. He may have them. Here is the link. http://www.rc10talk.com/viewtopic.php?f=27&t=2055&st=0&sk=t&...

Re: Restored LXT

Hi guys - thanks for the kind words, heartwarming, a lot of elbow grease went into this baby and I really cherish it. To me Losi really revolutionized the 2wd offroad world with its smart use of plastic... when you look at an LXT and a 10T next to each other, it's obvious which car looks the most te...

Re: ESC

I've tried a few of the "no-name" ESC's currently available on ePay and from the usual HK suspects... and I gave up after all of them prematurely toasted or were simply DOA. Others have had better results than me, but statistically they end up being just as expensive as anything else. I wo...

Restored LXT - FIXED PICS 08/22/2012 :)

Hi Guys I'd link to post a link to an article I wrote a while ago for a french-speaking site (sorry, that's my native language) which describes in details a full resto for the first Losi car I ever owned, the almighty LXT (which I think would still be a raceworthy contender today!) as well as says a...

Re: tub gt for racing

Good job at the race, sorry to hear you didn't take the win! stripped servo gear? interesting... when I looked at your truck I actually thought the stock servo arm looked a little wimpy... here's my suggestion - if you can afford it, get yourself a torquey, high-end metal gear servo (KO's have my, a...

Re: Chassis protection?

called Ski Saver....I found a 100 ft roll at my job when we were cleaning out the old DC to move to the new DC. Pretty thick and works really well. that rings a bell indeed  and indeed it IS thick, which can mess up the roll-center/ride-height combo a bit for onroad... non-issue for...

Re: Chassis protection?

And a few years back I bought a 10x2ft of ski-protecting transparent roll tape from an online US ski shop whose name I can't remember, and price was peanuts... it's lasted me till this summer for outdoors TC racing and I can't figure out where the heck it came from to save my life  It is great...

Re: Dying/tainting to white?

Nylon isn't a real good base for paint adhesion. I haven't seen anyone ever paint the nylon parts with any success. Even priming doesn't help, from what you've seen? :( Basically, if you want virgin white nylon parts, you have to do what the rest of us do and search out new parts in hobby shop clos...

Re: Dying/tainting to white?

Seems like we get this question once a week <use the search>. No, there is no way to make black pars white. If they were originally white and then dyed black, they are black for ever. Newer black parts are molded in black, so they were never white to begin with. Once any nylon is dyed ANY co...

Dying/tainting to white?

Hi guys - no idea if this has been asked before, but what kind of experiments have you done trying to make newer black parts look white, and with what success?

Thanks!
