Good work Matt! I know they had the pattern for towers available, but not listed on their website...however to get the whole lot and especially the long battery strap is ace! Big thumbs up for that .
Cheers,
Ian

Re: Mystery tyres
Looks like they were cut away from a rim with a hobby knife. :? I think that's why there's no bead. Are they a very hard compound? They seem like something that would come on a Nikko or Radio Shack car. I don't mean that as an insult at all, but just what they remind me of. There are a few Nikkos I...

Mystery tyres
Look a little like those from an early Yoke(834B style) and would need gluing to a rim i.e. have no bead to fit inside a rim
Anyone have any ideas who made these and which car they were for?

Whether these cars drove crappy or awesome, one thing is for sure; they are a piece of art that anyone would love to have in their vintage collection! Agreed, here's my '94 car and X10 http://i265.photobucket.com/albums/ii225/minichamps11/2.jpg http://i265.photobucket.com/albums/ii225/minichamps11/...

Re: predator 95 pro
Not sure about your comments on the Predator chassis. For quite a while it dominated in the UK…although this was partly due to its efficient drivetrain, the chassis itself was agile and handled well if you could understand how to set it up correctly (and keep it in one piece for 5 minutes). Torque s...

Re: predator 95 pro
Torque steer: That is what doomed the 10th Tech chassis :(. some felt 10th had ripped off some of Schmacher's ideas. 10th had good ideas, but materials just weren't there yet as they are today. great find :) Interesting post, what did Ttech rip off from Schumacher? Was it the inboard suspension ide...

Re: Machined vs Self Tapping Screws
I think overtightening is a worse situation--and more easy to do due to the finer, shallower threads--with machine screws. By design, self-tapping screws bite deeper and more firmly; machine screws would be better when screwed into something hard with threads also machined, such as aluminum, metal,...

Re: Machined vs Self Tapping Screws
Be careful not to overtighten a joint that was designed for a self tapper - you get more mechanical leverage with machine screws.

Re: MMS Model Motor Sport Advert 1992
Nice advert, thanks for posting it. I've got / had every one of those bits NIP apart from the Manta Ray motor mount and MMS stuff is nicely made. MMS did a good line of motor brush heatsinks too in pretty colours. Not much use anymore

Re: Any RC Cars made in America anymore?
It also has not helped in the past few weeks a few of the big names in Rc have started throwing around legal threats when it comes to repro decals and manuals. I don't see any of them actually paying to get licenses to make the original decals again, It looks like they just don't want anybody else ...

Hinckley this one:
http://www.hinckleyrccc.co.uk/ - the track is perfect for vintage cars, there's no nasty surprises to break them and it's a nice venue.

Yep, it's an O-ring. Works fine as it's always rotating at the same speed as the belts....

Re: Top Cat Question
Cougar 2 Works gearbox has different spacing where it screws to the chassis, compared to Cougar 1/Topcat & the other Cougar 2's. It will fit but you need to drill 2 new holes in a non-works chassis to make it fit....

Re: Is this an early CAT/ProCAT slipper assembly??
I had two Wasps that I sold years ago - one was for the MMS shaft, and the other was designed to fit on the stock Schumacher diameter non-slipper layshaft. Learned something new, didn't realise they made a slipper for the standard Schuie shaft.... Cheers Alex, something else for me to look out for....
