Jason, looks fantastic - stay with pink, you can never have to much pink on an '80s buggy :D

Re: Schumacher 3000

Forgot to say: if you go racing make sure the plastic "blades" on the inboard end of the driveshafts are in good nick because once they wear through, the driveshaft pin will chew through the alloy diff outdrives in minutes...... :!:

Re: Schumacher 3000

I raced a CAT3K for a few seasons back around 2002/3. Car was awesome on low - medium grip tracks (dirt & clay) but I didn't find it easy to use on high grip astroturf. There are 2 versions, the original with short & medium shocks plus a "laydown" style shock angle, and a later &qu...

Re: Lazer ZX-S

Someone ought to recreate the '90's MMS upgraded part - machined nylon gearbox front and tower with a roll-over "hoop" to strengthen it / avoid digging in and snapping.

Re: Topcat project.

One thing I am struggling with now is the rear suspension arms. With the shocks on the rear I cannot simply flip the arms because the toe in is molded in the arms, so the mounting angle would be really severe to maintain the geometry. Does anyone have any suggestions? . On the Topcat you adjust the...

Re: top ten rarest r/c trucks????

Bormac is right, they are rare, the Storm 2000 was only made for about a year. There aren't that many parts that are unique, most of the suspension and transmission comes from the Cougar 2000. This is probably why you don't see many spares for them. Common as muck - got two and am selling a mint one...

Re: Lazer chassis-what is it???

It's not strange, it's normal :-) I'm guessing it's a graphite chassis, either aftermarket or a Kyosho part released after the ZX-RR (or ZX-R mk.2) came out 1) The holes at the rear are for the gearbox (x2) and the rear pivot block (x2) - hence 4  2) One tab inside the battery slot is for 6 ce...

Re: Porsche 959 - selling, what to do?

you can't use "make me an offer' And all the better for it IMO, honestly a 5 min search of completed eBay listings is going to give you a better idea of value than any prospective / speculative buyer. That only works if the stuff you're trying to value has actually been sold on eBay recently -...

Re: Porsche 959 - selling, what to do?

My issue with selling an item like this on RC10talk is that the BST forum rules aren't helpful if you don't know it's value, especially as you can't use "make me an offer" wording. Probably be more likely to put it on T.C.

Re: Porsche 959 - selling, what to do?

Sounds like restoring first is the way to go. Think jwscab is right - I hadn't thought too much about the difference between Tamiya collectors and the kind of enthusiasts here on RC10talk.

Anyone know what decent 959's go for? I don't have the box unfortunately.
