Ayk Maviper/Viperick project hijinx

It's a slow news day in here so I subject you to, I mean present, this farce. I wouldn't do this to my first or sixth Viper but this set of parts needed some direction as I wasn't going to buy the parts necessary to complete it as a genuine new built...I love the boxart of the Maverick but I'm not t...

Re: Need this car Identified. UPDATE: Racing Beagle optima clone

The drive washers use friction alone from the wheel nut and should stay tight after the first tightening - make sure the tapers match.

If you can't find a Beagle manual, just find/use an online Optima manual as things are so close on most things that they are parallel, such as the drive washers etc.

Re: Need this car Identified please.

If you keep this thread here or start another in misc I think it will be followed (by me at least). Good luck in your cleanup/restoration...a deeper comparison between it and an optima would be a valuable contribution. (If that bumper is original and in good condition it's worth more than $10 by its...

Re: Need this car Identified please.

Certainly worth more than $10...the body being one of the more appreciated parts....not sure about parts compatibility (good chance on most parts though as the car was shut down for being too close/identical). Beagle parts are rarer than rare to find (without being collectible as the market for it i...

Re: Need this car Identified please.

The motor guard is distinctively different...slots versus holes, the suspension mounts have holes too which are distinctive. I don't have too much doubt in my mind. http://www.tamiyaclub.com/showroom_model.asp?cid=80033&id=21261 http://www.tamiyaclub.com/showroom_model.asp?cid=24340&id=2623 ...

A couple of ads I discovered when trying to find more useful information for PRP as his Dunn tribute is great fun. PRP to complete your project you will have to dress like the Dunn's also  : P1060288.JPG P1060287.JPG (PS in the ifmar video unfortunately Eustace's 4wd is the real showstopper f...

Re: my latiest and greatest find AYK SHUTTLE

Firstly I accuse myself of and concede that I am now harping (sorry :) ) Prolonging this is not directed at the author but at Vintage Racer and the seller. Lest I be accussed of 'bagging out' I reread the auction description because the seller description vexes me... "The condition of this car ...

Re: my latiest and greatest find AYK SHUTTLE

I don't want to be picky as the parts are worth $100 (i would have bought it for $100 too), but in picture 4 (alu piece hiding behind the gearbox in main pic) in the parts it shows an alu side suspension reinforcing support that has been completely nuked/snapped and the pic 7 undershot shows an oval...

Re: my latiest and greatest find AYK SHUTTLE

Be careful about this auction, it's a cheap runner or great parts for $100 but definitely no shelf queen (it's been thrashed) - I'm not sure that the seller has been entirely honest about having been sitting on a shelf and operated only a little...the rear suspension/roll bar holder would require a ...

Re: THE SEARCH IS OVER!!!!!! AYK VIPER

The reason I subconsciously am thinking of the shock mounts is...this one has them back to front...it is tall mounts in front, short in the back....the effect on handling would be...would be...don't know, but the feng shui is out of whack.
