Re: THE SEARCH IS OVER!!!!!! AYK VIPER

Inet got a bit over-enthusiastic and added an extra frame cross member piece beneath the front number plate... PS I'm currently daring anyone to go a non-black Viper frame. PPS I wonder why suspension/shocks attached by a single screw attached to the radio tray held on to the chassis with 2mm screws...

Re: Kyosho Hotshot

Nice body choice.

By putting the balls on the underside of the knuckles causing steep steering rods are you intentionally courting bump steer ?

(PS would love to see a photo of the front depressed/down to see if my mental steering geometry is correct)..theoretically I think it will be crazy :)

Re: My Turbo Optima never ran

Yes, the standard Optima resistors are placed on the circular cutout of the left rear chassis plate...but caught too much dirt so they moved it (without changing the chassis).

Re: Mugen bulldog steering modification??

Thank you for posting. I'm forever surprised that the Bulldog held off Optimas (in Australian races at least) for so long. (Maybe it was the Farnan's superior marketing) One photo reminds me, I think the roll bar ranks as one of the Bulldog's achilles heels...firstly zip tied but more so that the up...

Re: Mugen bulldog steering modification??

The Peugot 205 is a Grenenger Bulldog, the bug another Taipan. The article is circa 1985. Any photos from anyone (nudge nudge, wink wink Tiger1) and yes please of your RPM mods....and any pictures of the Taipans would be a legitimate contribution to this hobby...especially given the recent popularit...

Some of the Pitstop Bulldog mod advertising of the era - (also a nice incident picture and some taipans) would love to know what happened to the Grenenger 85 Worlds Champs Taipan directly above the incident...

Re: Mugen bulldog steering modification??

I think the first modification before any chassis drilling should be the optima steering blocks shown and improved rods with ball ends. The Bulldog isn't understeery in nature but is subject to slop and bending. Retro, did any Team Pitstop gear make it your way...or any of the 80s 'Taipan' modifieds?

These are some other alternatives that fit the original Optima rims...the original Optima Option House option tires W1874...they even have Sand Super side walls.

Re: Kyosho 1/10 gas mini

This chassis resembles the Kyosho Peanuts series racer but I'm not sure it is one...my Kyosho catalogs run out before 86 and there is a Peanuts Series Celica Rally car which is similar layout but with a different engine layout, a massive horizontal cooling fan and a very metallic rear end and plasti...

Re: Cross or Kose option parts for which kyosho?

I think (guess only at this stage) this is for the Kyosho QRC semi monster trucks hence the raised steering arm...wild dodge ram, field baja maybe snake bite etc Trying to investigate it some more but I think they ran standard plastic optima steering arms with a spacer/raiser. tiny picture but I don...

Re: option parts by???

The standard cross 'color' is a deeper gold...a little deeper than the Kyosho celebration chassis which is a pain. Sorry but I don't know the caster options or on the Kose front.

Re: option parts by???

I'm pretty sure that the dark gold part on the right is the Cross part, from the flush suspension mount, color and the lack of the recesses. Sorry but I'm not a help on the mystery left part. Any idea what the extra cutouts are for?

Re: Kyosho class of '87

These cross rear hubs are ambidextrous and unlike the plastic originals, are symmetric and have suspension mounts on both sides. This isn't the king midas gold Pro I have seen from Japan and is destined for a non gold painted Javelin frame (black?) and will sister a red anodized cross galored versio...

Re: Kyosho class of '87

Two often dismissed Kyoshos..the 2 Stingers...even if you don't like them they are a much cheaper source for Optima parts. I love them.
