Re: So who also collects Lego?

That Mustang is a fantastic set. It's on my list too; hopefully by the end of the year.

Lego sets are like potato chips...and vintage RC...you just can't have a few!

Re: Dadio's 3D Printing Stuff

In my opinion, publish the model at as designed nominal size. You can list the critical dimensions for reference if you like. In my experience, FFM printers always make holes undersized, which is actually fine. I always open the holes up to the correct size with a drill or reamer. They're often out ...

Re: So who also collects Lego?

That is a really good series; I haven't seen the Lego one yet, however. It's dangerous, though, because it makes me want to collect more toys  . Bakauata: You own or have owned some great vintage Lego! Brickset is a fantastic resource. It's helped me immensely with my collection. I love the...

Re: So who also collects Lego?

Very cool stuff! The light kits are a nice touch. My son loves the Star Wars and Marvel superhero lines. I tend to purchase the Creator series for myself, particularly the large modular buildings. They're expensive, but always a fun build with really great results. I don't have it yet, but this year...

Re: So who also collects Lego?

Those VW sets are very nice! I don't have either, but they're on my want list for someday.

I too struggle to find time for my hobbies. I can't do them all at the same time, so I just migrate from one to the other, and then back again. Right now I'm trying to spend more time with RC.

So who also collects Lego?

This came up in another post and I didn't want to hijack that one even more, so I started a new one here. Any Lego fans out there? I got back into Lego 7 years ago when my son became interested. I'm not sure which one of us has more sets :D . Here's some of my Lego, under some vintage RC: 20190320_2...

Re: Which free 3D modeling software to use for 3D printing?

I also use Autodesk Inventor at work, and have a copy at home (it's available based on our license structure). However, I have used Fusion 360. I find it works very well and is the most powerful free software available. Of course, that's probably because I've been using Inventor for 12 years :D . Sk...

Re: Edinger? Time for some love

Sounds like a good plan! Those early ball cups are so fragile. I have three early Edingers and all of them have Dubro replacements on the steering tie rods from BITD. They look "right" on an old RC10.

Re: Edinger? Time for some love

Thanks! It was a fun experiment on the "high detail" (0.12mm layer thickness) setting :D.

I agree; printed parts wouldn't be accurate for a true restoration, but sometimes reproductions are the best you can do the moment.

Re: Just purchased two NOS RC10s

854 was my first Technics/Expert too! I still have it, worn but complete. Between my son and I, we now have way too many Lego sets. They're almost as addictive as vintage RC! :D

Re: Edinger? Time for some love

I just had another look at the car and hidden in plain sight are a few more ball cup issues, primarily a couple broken ones, and more missing on the rear :( Now I’m not sure whether to obtain more dubro’s or look at other alternatives  What about a 3D printed part? I made a quick model and tes...

Re: New Optima-based Build

It's been a while, but I'm still working on this... I'm getting much closer to the build, however. I'm ready to fire up the 3D printer! I decided to make the front end look more Pro Radiant-like, with a new shock tower mount and slightly altered shock mounting geometry (shock bottom will att...
