Re: Buggy ID... from memory
How about a Kyosho Cactus? It doesn't have the pinion + spur arrangement you described, but it does have the other features and a very odd gearbox
. The grooved tires front and rear were stock.

Re: Cleaning Parts
Simple Green works very well in an ultrasonic cleaner. I usually dilute quite a bit (1 part Simple Green to 4 parts water); you really don't need much cleaning solution as the the vibrations do most of the work. The bases in the Simple Green just act as a degreaser. Diluted Purple Power, Castrol Sup...

Re: New Optima-based Build
I think its a 'board thing' here that projects must last longer than needed around here  Looks interesting but I'm thinkin I've gotta see some more to figure out your project. Good to see you getting back around the board and checkin in once in awhile 8) Todd Thanks, Todd. Like everyone el...

New Optima-based Build
I'm finally getting some time to work on a project that I've wanted to do since about 1989. I actually got started on it in 2011, but life got in the way. Six years later, I'm back at it. The delay is probably a good thing, as the project is more feasible now, with the ability to easily 3D print. Th...

Re: Green parts
Usually with a changeover of materials or colors, you get a tie dye effect for x number of parts and then it goes away. Good molding practice is also to run white polystyrene through the whole system (from the dryer/hopper) as a type of purge. In any case, the green parts I've seen are really consis...

Re: Hobby Shops in Paris, France
Last time I was in Paris, I rode the Metro everywhere. Easiest way to get around and not have to worry about driving. Absolutely! I just got back to the USA yesterday. Paris was fantastic, but I ran out of time and didn't get to the hobby shop. I did go to a Star Wars themed creperie, however :D .

I'll be there for four days and then four days in Heidelberg, Germany. It's a business trip, but I've added some extra time for sight-seeing. ![Very Happy :D](./images/smilies/icon_biggrin.gif)

Re: Hobby Shops in Paris, France
Great; thank you!! Looks like a nice place. I will check it out. That's a shame about the politics and automotive rule changes, etc. Government the world over loves to make more rules. Why the pre-1997 ban; air quality standards? This will be my first trip to Paris (and France), so I'm excited to se...
