Re: TEAM TEKIN 2014 VINTAGE OFFROAD NATIONALS • SEPT 5-7TH

Not trying to be a party pooper here, but somehow I doubt that traction compound is entirely necessary. Sure, it'll make a difference, but older RC10s have plenty of weight and should generate good grip without traction compound. I've raced at Wolcott a few times with my modern equipment and have d...

Re: Gomachv's 4wd RC10v2.0 project- mock up

Kick up averages 5-7* total caster is normally around 12* by memory

** support** what I did was make a flanged bearing support with the motorplate, we ran slipper eliminators...but you can run the flange the other way. I also made my own aluminum and carbon fiber motorplate

Re: Gomachv's 4wd RC10v2.0 project- mock up

GT2 topshaft eh? I did this with my 06' HRC Disruptor (in mid motor). You will likely run into trouble unless you create another bearing support near the pulley, the bearing spacing inside the case isn't far enough apart to support any torque out that far (like the spur) but if you make anoth...

That's about all that there is to say about them really... they were made and sold by Losi, available to the general public. Common, eh...not so much.

Re: TEAM TEKIN 2014 VINTAGE OFFROAD NATIONALS • SEPT 5-7TH

Suburbs and Barcodes are the tire to run there in the softest compound you can get. I've been trying to run closed cell inserts for consistency sake but haven't really found the same feel open cell gives you yet. Ions work for 4wd when the track is clean. Whichever tire you choose we heat and treat...

Quick flash with traction compound and a lighter, spin on.a pencil and watch your eybrows

Most tracks where your heating the tires I've run love slicks, or eh...really really worn down tread

Re: RC car for my 6yr. old son.

I started our son out around 4 with an RC10 and it was fun but tough. Harder to learn, easier to break, easily upset on the track/yard etc. If I had it to do over again I'd buy a used SC10, install
waterproof electronics and let him have fun

Re: Tony Stewart

Even the roosting idea seems far fetched (to me) I've seen bowling ball size pieces of NY clay get tossed 35' in the air when cars are on the cushion, and cause concussions when they hit bystanders, photographers, vol fireman at the tracks. I've taken a softball size chunk of clay to the chest on a ...

Hate it... hate it so much- When Richard Pryor passed I wasn't sad or upset, he had MS and you could see the effects of the disease taking its toll on him and see his agony. When I read he died here I was just pissed. I couldn't see the deterioration, as I did with Richard, and I can't digest the ou...
