If you're dead set on a MIP you can have a machinist turn down the shaft "built in spacer". I just did one last week, Its pretty simple

Built a short course truck from a BJ4 years ago and it worked very well, But it's biggest downfall was its weight. It just got pushed around by the heavy Losi's if you got into it with one. But handled and jumped very well.

You'll notice the biggest difference on a rough or bumpy track. No need to convert the whole shock though, As pretty much all the benefits come from the springs. You get less twist and binding in a larger diameter spring than a smaller one. Avid and ghea make conversions for the big bore springs or ...

Yes, I just chucked it up in a lathe using an old cut down crankshaft. Skimmed of the factory grooves and then knurled it with a knurling tool

Did you knurl the flywheel and sand the fins on the head yet? The two hardest thing to find for mine was the pipe and the receiver crystal. Still haven't found the pipe yet. I might just have to make one
