Re: TQ10 resto
Supplies! 20240131_182053.jpg I'm going to redo the motor plate touchup. The paint pen I used is a bit too flat. I'll experiment with the epoxy to fill in the stealth holes on the chassis if I can get the color dark enough while mixing. I think these are the correct towers. 20240131_182435.jpg And s...

Re: TQ10 resto
Separating the good from the not so good. My shock inventory is in poorer shape than I recall.... These are all the bottom loaders I have. There are two new 1.32 bodies and a couple decent .56s. None of the shock caps are perfect.

Re: TQ10 resto
Good ideas, thanks! I tested a semi-gloss paint pen and the results look decent. I'll test the Birchwood stuff, too, as I have a few other things in the safe that could use some touch up. 20240117_180941.jpg Inspecting some nylon to see which is the prettiest... I may need to peroxide a few pieces a...

Re: TQ10 resto
Wheelie wear on the motor plate.
The motor guard does not cover the damaged edge.

Re: TQ10 resto
Looks like you’ve got lots of parts to work with. Nice Yes the black 6 gear only motor plate would be correct for the TQ10. Thanks for confirming! This 6 gear seems to have a bunch of hours on it. I don't have a lot of history with the RC10, but this is the most wear I've seen in my experience. 202...

Re: TQ10 resto
I moved into a new house and have not fully unpacked all the RC stuff after the move. The bin that I stored the torn down buggy in was missing many parts, so I've been digging through moving boxes over the past week looking for the rest of the car. It's funny (and a bit sad) when I find cars/parts/t...

TQ10 resto
Back at the work bench after a hiatus while building a house and then messing around with HO slot cars over the past few years. I started to restore this TQ10 several years ago but never got past tear down. I did collect a few NIB parts back then, so I'll try to get this one in nice shape without us...

Re: JRX Pro SE runner build
You have to let the fast kid borrow it to race. Totally worth whatever carnage results when we all get to hear about this beauty cleaning house. Life has been getting in the way of track time. Soon, I hope to have some time to get this thing dialed with his help. Thanks to Dan @ Sabulatech, 8) I ha...

Hi Dan! Funny, I just sent you a PM. I was just about to order another set or 2, but had a question for you before I do.

Re: JRX Pro SE runner build
My biggest question after reading your update is how in the world, did you trim the front of the body so perfectly around the front brace? Nice work! LOL, thanks! I like to cut before painting so I can see whats going on. That and a sharp razor ... and a couple beers to steady the...

Re: JRX Pro SE runner build
The NIP bulkhead that I built the car with definately had something strange going on. It was very brittle right out of the pack. I wonder if it spent too long hanging in the sun at a hobby shop during its life. So, put in a new white bulkhead and a Trinity brace and added a little weight to the nose...

Re: JRX Pro SE runner build
I've got a NIP white bulkhead and Trinity brace I'll install for the next round. I was so anxious to run the car that I didn't spend the time to adjust the ESC, slipper, diff, or select the right tires. :D . And I had my rere Worlds and RB6 that I wanted to run in the small window of time I had avai...

Re: Worlds build - my first runner
Some pics from the shakedown run today. Got 2 packs through her with no problems. The track was in poor shape, so I couldn't really get a good feel for the setup. I'll have to get back on a practice night when the track is prepped. http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y257/sixdub/Vintage%20RC/20170529_1...

Re: JRX Pro SE runner build
Took the buggy to the track today for a little shakedown. The track was muddy in parts and dusty in others, basically really poor conditions for running. Who cares, still fun. When I could get traction, the buggy handled great and had good power from the Dynamite Tazer Twin motor. Jumping behavior w...
