Re: whats everyone using

If you mean vintage stuff I like my Novak T4 esc, Futaba Magnum JR, and Avenger(Hah!) battery. I have a Pretty Puny stock motor and a Joel "Magic" Johnson mod that I might put in there for vintage looks. When I actually run one I prefer the Castle Sidwinder 5700 and Maxamps 2s 5000mah Lipo...

Re: Newbie to vintage RC10s, would like to build a buggy

Keep a close eye on ebay and be patient. There seem to be lulls in the r/c market on there from time to time. I got a pretty decent near roller for $20 because it was described wrong and I just happened across it. It needed a few rear end parts that were maybe another $10. They're tough too. I have ...

Re: Nice Example of Heathkit RC History

I'm glad to see others interested in this. I recently sent an e-mail to R/C Car Action asking if any of their writers has considered an in-depth book on the full history of r/c. I figured they would have the resources and time. I have no writing talents so I'm right out. I for one would be intereste...

Re: question on rc10 plastic

You can probably find long enough 3mm screws at a Home Depot or Lowe's. I have bought a lot of screws there. If they don't have them in an envelope on the wall look for the giant drawers. They have thousands of miscellaneous screws in them. Cheap too.

No R/C related Fatheads??

Bummer. I envisioned a giant original RC10 coming out of my living room wall. My wife would resist, but if I threatened her doll collection I could gain some leverage. Let's all write our Senators...

Re: The BMX (and other bikes) thread

I was way into Freestyle bikes even though I sucked at the actual freestyle part. I had a Cyclepro Jammer. Paid out the nose for it and then fell in love with a Haro. Live and learn. There are some sweet bikes in here. I kept mine forever. After I had been moved out for a while I was at my parent's ...

Re: Does anyone recognize this chassis?

Now that you mention Composite Craft I think that might be it. It could be that Raborn too though because it does have mounting options in front and rear. I think Composite Craft though. I know the shop I raced at then carried Composite Craft stuff. They were a pretty high end company back in the da...

Re: Does anyone recognize this chassis?

That doesn't sound familiar, but that doesn't mean it isn't. It was a long time ago. It is set up for mid-motor mount, but I recently drilled new holes and turned it around just for the hell of it. That piece of info may help the id.

Does anyone recognize this chassis?

It's an oval chassis I run on one of my RC10s. I've had it so long I can't remember the manufacturer. It's more rigid and durable than anything else I have come across. It can be set very long which helps in hi-speed applications. For some reason it's really bugging me lately that I can't remember w...

Re: Don't Know Were To Start

From the times I've tried to clean white parts they never turn out like new. I've never tried the Oxy Clean method mentioned earlier. I may next time. I prefer to give up vintage looks in order to have a clean end-product. I always end up dying them black. Car is looking great by the way...

Man, I thought I knew every Tamiya. That's pretty cool. What is it and when did it come out?
