Re: Picture of the day. (Taken by you)

Not to detract from the beautiful display of lightning above, but I was recently browsing an assortment of Japanese whiskies and spotted this:

Re: Vintage Sanyo Batteries

Did you mention in another thread that the storage these were all in was flooded at some point in time? The corrosion is possibly from the water.

@Lavigna

Word is that it is super stable and neutral in the factory setup, despite not being as dramatic a series departure as the B7 from the B6x's. I am quite tempted myself, having run the original 22, but can't find the time to race anymore.

T/E - Maxx long wheelbase 1/8 conversion chassis. Not the norm for this site, but I love to tinker on early 2000's cars and trucks.

Kyosho Ultima ST Sports RTR. Features include an anemic 540 motor from an old mattress pump, mismatched and thoroughly roached tires, 3d printed shock spacers and a battery held in by a body pin and a prayer. The RT5 body was forced into service with creative body post reaming. This one is pretty ug...

@Frankentruck

I absolutely agree with the additional analysis. Companies will no doubt find leeway to increase prices alongside the fluctuations to further increase their margin. Pragmatically, I think the days of cars under $400 are over.

@Frankentruck

So this is $347 retail. That is within the expected range. Import tariff from Taiwan is 32%, lowered to 10% until July.

I also use WD40 on exceptionally dry tape and adhesives, but I will resort to a Wagner heat gun as needed.

Frankentruck wrote: Mon May 12, 2025 1:33 pm I vote for going back to the RC10CC intro price of $319 for all new releases
$319 x 1.32 = $421.08

I'm thinking this will be the new pricing realm, then add up for included hop ups.

Re: Quality tools

I use MiP for my RC wrenches, both metric and SAE.

Abbey Tools, Park, Wera, or Eklind for the bicycles.

PROTO for the 10, 12, 14, 17 and 22mm applications on the Toyotas.

Re: How do you choose which brushless motor to run?

You'll get an order of magnitude in terms of longer run times over brushed using modern LiPos with brushless motors. I find that the Hobbywing BLS120 with a 13.5 Surpass Hobby Rocket motor is an excellent combo for fun, manageable.power. I have used Castle systems in the past, typically in Traxxas p...

Re: How do you choose which brushless motor to run?

It doesn't translate directly per se... Decimal based motors tend to be sensored for low speed resolution without cogging, Kv numbered motors tend to be sensorless. Generally, sensored motors give greater throttle finesse. You can measure RPM's for a variety of brushless motors through an analyzer (...
