Re: BloodClod's RC10 Mid-Motor

_GK-NFA8bDQ Ran a pack at the track today and I had a *HUGE* grin on my face the moment the car took the first corner. The change in handling was night vs day and the car was really really good. The main changes I had done were (1) use the new rear spacers to raise the rear roll center and reduce t...

Re: BloodClod's RC10 Mid-Motor

Just a few more pics. The chassis had to be cut to accommodate the motor and gear covers. To do this neatly I actually drew up a simple template and printed it out so I could mark out the curves to be cut on both sides of the chassis. After this it was relatively simple to use a dremel to drill out ...

Re: BloodClod's RC10 Mid-Motor

I ran blue front and silver rear springs on my yokoRC10, had to go heavy on the oils but I was running on indoor Astro Think oils were 45/35 that's really helpful! You were running big bore shocks? I'm running the standard stock shocks and the blue front springs I want to use are too long and I can...

Re: BloodClod's RC10 Mid-Motor

It's funny you guys bring this up... I was going to dial some anti-squat out of my 10M for the same reasons. At least try it. With that car it has a lot of front bite, but I still want to see what more would do. I've been questioning everything on that car since the suspension geometry is set up fo...

Re: BloodClod's RC10 Mid-Motor

Cheers, thanks to photobucket my pics are no longer but if you want to pm me or look me up on FB (Mark Headling) I can send some pics over, yes it could certainly to with less squat, with the short arms and fairly high anti squat degree it does tend to lift its nose so to get round this I added a f...

Re: BloodClod's RC10 Mid-Motor

I've had mine for a two and a half years now... it really does open up the possibilities. With shapeways you *could* just have them print your parts, but when I was developing the Ten4 I found it just took longer than I was willing to wait to design something, then wait 2-3 weeks to get it, then ma...

Re: BloodClod's RC10 Mid-Motor

What a cool use of your skills and 3d printer. I envision doing something like this, but I would loose my motivation to learn the printer as soon as I open it. Excellent ideas, design and execution! Thanks for the kind comments. I've wanted a 3D printer for the longest time but was always hesitant ...

Re: BloodClod's RC10 Mid-Motor

RC10 Worlds re-release parts are drying up on ebay. I look nearly every day. Yeah.... I thought the parts availability would have lasted a bit longer than it has. Oh well, back the old days of pre 2014. Oh no... here I was thinking that AE had a very good record of keeping parts for their...

I just went to look up your project - it turned out great!

That vid of the car running looked awesome. Did you find that you didn't have enough squat?

Re: BloodClod's RC10 Mid-Motor

toying with some ideas... after a quick first run, my thoughts are that the car could generate a bit more forward traction and also that the rear has a bit too much roll so after direction changes the rear seems to take a while to settle. These are probably a result of the suspension being catered m...

Re: BloodClod's RC10 Mid-Motor

Fantastic project! I'm really digging your gear cover, love to have one  Oops, went back and read earlier post and it's a reverse style cover :? lol... I'm curious... Why would you need a non-reverse one? Wouldn't that be the stock great cover? The stock (Worlds re-release) gear cover is p...

Re: BloodClod's RC10 Mid-Motor

Revised the design of the waterfall to be stronger and also integrate the shorty pack retainer into it. This version has a more functional look to it and the plan was to try to maintain the design aesthetic of the other car parts. http://www.raceworks.sg/bc/rc10mid/rc10mid_04.jpg Here it is installe...

Re: BloodClod's RC10 Mid-Motor

Looks good! Nice job on the printed parts! Thanks man! I've seen many of your posts while doing my "research". :) Snapped a pic with the bodyshell. http://www.raceworks.sg/bc/rc10mid/rc10mid_02.jpg Glued a piece of lexan where the original rear shock cut-outs were. It's not great but it'l...

BloodClod's RC10 Mid-Motor

Hi guys, Just sharing a project I recently worked on, my simple take on a mid-motor RC10. The history... Like most of you, I was excited when AE re-released the Worlds car and a couple of buddies and I bought them with the intention to race them at our local races. The buggies were awesome and perfo...
