Re: A slightly different Blackfoot III...
6 months since building this and I still haven't gotten round to painting the shell but I did cut a custom chassis that I've been thinking of doing for sometime now. The objective is to return the wheelbase of this truck back to that of the original Blackfoot so it looks better with the shell. The s...

Re: BloodClod's "TRF" Frog...
Cool set up. What ball joint did you use to attach to the steering knuckles? The Frog and the Sand Scorcher have the same steering arms right? I want to put some stronger turnbuckles on my Scorcher, but I'm not sure how to mount a regular ball end to the knuckle. The stock ball joint seems to be 2....

Re: BloodClod's "TRF" Frog...
I will definitely be stealing the steering idea for my frog and blackfoots. Awesome work very cool looking On the rear wheels, did you leave the tamiya hub off to mount the wheels? The wheels are mounted using a optional hex adaptor - pretty much similar to the one Tamiya offers as an option for th...

Re: BloodClod's "TRF" Frog...
I was thinking the same thing. I'd definitely buy that steering setup. Its quite innovative! Cool build!! Great work as well, one question though- why put $70 shocks on, and $50 worth of carbon and have a $11 servo? :| lol... real reason? cos at 2am in the morning it was the one servo within arms' ...

Re: BloodClod's "TRF" Frog...
Very nice work upgrading the suspension, I would really be intrigued to know if it helped out a very bad original design (how couldn't it? LOL). I find the 2.2" wheels tend to make the already-too-small Frog wing look even more hinky-dink, though. No offence, it just looks odd....

lol... I'm not sure that name would take off Mr Ed.Mr. ED wrote:Call it 'the bloodfrog-line'
Which parts do you guys think would have the most interest? Might do some sums to see if it made sense to do a couple.

Re: BloodClod's "TRF" Frog...
Ah... nice spot! Rear wheels are from a OFNA/Hongnor CRT.5. Perfect offset for vintages like this. I run a pair on my RC10 gold tub too!Mr. ED wrote:Nice and original custom work!
which rear wheels did you use: they appear to have a nice big offset?

BloodClod's "TRF" Frog...
Hi guys, just sharing a project that I've been working on... Local weather has been nothing but wet wet wet... so I found some time to do some work on my Tamiya Frog. So here's how she looks after hours of work... http://www.cool.per.sg/external_links/frog/frog_06.jpg A side view... http://www.cool....

Re: A slightly different Blackfoot III...
Here's a picture of the front suspension. The wishbone is made of 6mm delrin which seems more than up to the task to handle the suspension duties. Suspension geometry remains unchanged although I added another additional hole in between the stock two holes. Also made custom shock towers to mount the...

Re: A slightly different Blackfoot III...
when they came out with the blackfoot extreme, i thought it looked awful..... using that body on the wild dagger chassis. when there was talk about the blackfoot 3, i thought well...... maybe this time they'll get it right since the re-re brat and frog had come out after the extreme. then i saw wha...

Re: A slightly different Blackfoot III...
Ok so how did you shorten the wheel base? Worked on a set of new front and rear wishbones which shortened the wheelbase... I'll snap a couple of pics and post them up later. I wanted to narrow the truck too but wasn't very successful trying to find approx 55mm long dogbones which mated with the Tam...
