Re: neighbour killed my boomerang !

Here now some pictures of the current status. I hope my little picture story makes some fun of you. I would be happy to receive suggestions . As I said, I still do not know what shocks and I'm looking also for the right body.

Re: neighbour killed my boomerang !

Next Step. The connection of the upper plate to the rear gearbox. I have spent hours, measure out this part right. Many attempts have ended in the dustbin. But now it finally fits!

Re: neighbour killed my boomerang !

Always a very difficult question. how secure the battery? I opted for a homemade Ultima holder.

Re: neighbour killed my boomerang !

Now I installed the top plate. I used three bolts from the Kyosho Ultima and two 3mm internally threaded bolts.

Re: neighbour killed my boomerang !

Then the question is how should I attach the front gear housing and bumper? 2mm aluminum angle, a file and lots of patience!

Re: neighbour killed my boomerang !

Then I thought about how I could fix the rear gear on a base plate. This is my solution.

Re: neighbour killed my boomerang !

the DF03 shocks are certainly a good idea. To give you a better idea of my project, I should probably show you the status. I am a little nervous because here in the forum are so many great projects. But I think every project is a good project. :D how it all began :( As I wrote at the time, I wanted ...

Re: neighbour killed my boomerang !

The resurrection is making great progress with. Now I have to think about the details. My Boomerang will be converted to 4 damper. Can anyone recommend good, affordable, yet beautiful shocks  ? I think about 70mm front and 90mm rear. Thanks for suggestions

Re: neighbour killed my boomerang !

thank you very much. Very good news for me. There are a few sellers particular in the US with really low prices for boomerang parts. I wonder why it is so difficult to get re-released Tamiya parts in Europe. Not only for the boomerang. The full range re-released stuff is awful hard to find. There sh...

Re: SUPER SHOT - who else loves em?

The Super Shot was a musthave for me all the time. Last week , i finaly got him :) It was one of those hazardous auctions on the bay. Bad pics , inexact description. After a first view and disassembly, the familiar dilemma  Enough good parts for restoration ? the start of a new project ? a mone...

Re: which is the correct opponet ??

Maybe, you remember the Robbe Mercedes 190 or Robbe Peugeot 205 Turbo Rally ? The Mescalero had the same chassis. Imagine this chassis with offroad tires and a body which could be a mixture of a grasshopper and a yokomo dogfighter RPS  This was nearly the Mescalero :D

Re: which is the correct opponent ??

I just found one Robbe 2WD buggy in a magazine from 1988. Robbe "Mescalero" This car was very basic and not a real enemy for ultimas or RC10 . I'm sorry to say, i have no scanner. I'm sure you would be amused to see this car .

Re: which is the correct opponent ??

A Galaxy is really a nice idea. I don’t know if this buggy was competitive , but I like the look very much. A Fox would be 100% time fitting, but for any reason, I don’t like him. I purchased a hard used one a few years ago, because I never hold one in my hands before and I was just interested in th...

Re: which is the correct opponent ??

After reading more and more topics in this section , I’m sure you are right with your guess. The bullet seems to be the Ultima1 corresponding Traxxas buggy. Interesting how similar the buildup of the ultima1 compared to the bullet seems. Even the body/Drivercage is looking quite similar. It is too b...
