Re: Tamiya Sand Scorcher - 2010 Reissue
Started out with a blue jacket, thought I'd add the red seat belts, like the old baja's.

Ended up with the cajun ruffles guy instead.
Hope the helmet turns out well, and puts things back in perspective.

Re: Tamiya Sand Scorcher - 2010 Reissue
Thanks for that! I had seen that movie, not even that long ago, and had totally forgotten Peter Fonda's helmet. That movie must have inspired Bell to make their version. I was thinking I would use the stars as masks, and pull them off to reveal the white under the metallic blue. But the stars have a...

Wonder if the Parma bodies will ever make a comeback too. www.slotcarstore.net/pages/PARMA-RC-Bodies-T1622.html www.rc10talk.com/viewtopic.php?t=48592 ...one email away from finding out if you can get one. Totally understand on taking artistic liberty's, it's generally a more fun way to travel. I s...

Re: The RC Corvette in - (1988) The Dead Pool - Clint Eastwood
Thanks for the info on the bumpers! If I could find the Parma #10218 body, I'd go all out to make this as exact a movie car replica as possible. Going to have to take a bit of liberty with this Bolink body though :D. RJ Speed has all of the classic Bolink bodies again, so many good choices available...

Re: Tamiya Sand Scorcher - 2010 Reissue
The instructions for the Sand Scorcher recommend using a LiFe 1100mah battery. I had set this up to run a 3000mah LiPo shorty, but I decided to use a 1500mah LiPo instead. Ordered a 2010 reissue foam block to fit the 1500 stock size battery. https://i.imgur.com/sICvZsp.jpg Getting started on the dri...

Good call. The Porsche wheels are going to push that van to a whole new level of cool. :D With so many VWs on the market, I am surprised that there aren't more wheel choices available. My Beetle needs these: https://www.rc10talk.com/download/file.php?id=174501&t=1 I seriously can't believe no o...

Re: RC10 - A Stamp Rebuild - Chipped Idler Gear
FWIW the original AE steering bellcrank is bright white and a much harder plastic. Fan RC is not the correct color. It's possible he did that on purpose or decided to use the same nylon as the other parts. AE_bellcrank.JPG That's all true and the original parts were not reinforced and were known to...
