Re: The RC Corvette in - (1988) The Dead Pool - Clint Eastwood
I was recommending the Spaz Stix for the knock offs, but if you decide to use it on the bumpers, it’s almost mirror on the outside of the body. I’ll take a picture of the bumper I pictured earlier later, if you would like to see it? Would definitely appreciate seeing the Spaz Stix on the outside of...

Re: 1/10 Scale On-Road - Chassis Options in 2024
Searched for HPI Porche RSR Fuchs wheels, 31mm rear, and 26mm fronts, for over 7 months. I looked every day - for months, and never once saw the staggered sized set. HPI discontinued their Pure Ten series in 2010 or so, iirc. I contacted a wheel maker in China trying to have the HPI Fuchs reproduced...

Re: RC10 Classic 40th anniversary
Looks great and I agree with your comments. The 40th is very well made; parts are clean, precise and beautifully finished. I was reluctant to order one at first but now I'm happy I did. Mine is #2045. :D Thanks! Glad you're enjoying #2045! I was hoping more people would show off their builds in her...

The first car, 1CW0562 - which was rumored to have been run over on the set by a movie crew truck - had the hobby grade foil bumpers on the exterior: https://i.imgur.com/PO5L0w2.jpg But car #2, or 1LKI623, has the shabby rushed tin foil bumpers. https://i.imgur.com/QWEbp6o.jpg Since the body I have ...

Chassis 1506 reporting in. https://i.imgur.com/qRqNYdw.jpg Next to an original, the 40th is outstanding, really smooth suspension and gearbox - looks incredible. https://i.imgur.com/vDLJWT8.jpg Wasn't sure on this when I preordered it, after reading up on the 2013, and CC, but the 40th is the one to...

Re: The RC Corvette in - (1988) The Dead Pool - Clint Eastwood
That would be pretty sweet to have the bumpers match the knockoffs, in shine and color. I also like the idea of painting the chrome bumpers outside of the lexan to get a different look. Great to know the possibilities available, I'll be giving this all a test, later this evening hopefully. Thanks gu...

Re: Associated Foam Tires - Standard size
I have (2) old Bolink RC10 foam sets that measure 1.7" in diameter. Just the widths and the tire OD's are different. [ The donuts are cut and trued to match desired width and diameter. 1:10 pan car wheels are generally 1.7" or 2.0", with widths varying. 1:12 are usually 1.4". Th...

Re: The RC Corvette in - (1988) The Dead Pool - Clint Eastwood
This “Spaz Stix” chrome I used for a bumper is pretty reflective even on the painted side. The label is lost and gone but looking at the bottom of the cans I’m 99% sure it’s a Spaz Stix product. The movie car wheels are a dull aluminum metal color, and then the AE asc6192 chrome knockoffs are brigh...

Scale is difficult to tell in pictures, got a front set of 1:12 tires accidentally. For $10 it was another lesson learned. May have somewhere to put those at some point. https://i.imgur.com/1aMbg3C.jpg The TRC rear tires are nearly perfect for both front and rears, with 1.7" ID, and 1.5" w...

Had to grind the set screw, and the ring, was not easy getting it to flush. The dimension on the Dremel cutting wheel, even a short worn one, dictated the angle I could get at on the ring notch. https://i.imgur.com/kV1qD6G.jpg CA set screw. https://i.imgur.com/tDUge3V.jpg Grind out gear cases. https...

Can you guess which is the paint, and which is the pen - both are 40th knockoffs. https://i.imgur.com/HHCzOae.jpg That's Rustoleum Chrome, excellent coverage and texture. The Liquid Chrome pens on the right, are shinier, more like chrome, but the texture is so bad, gets little bubbles in it that har...
