Re: Another Resto from the Weekend - TCP
Interesting that you mention the quality of the fit and finish of the components.
The TRX-1 has rather nominal tolerances (apart from the shocks). Perhaps the black components are of a better quality.

Re: TRX-1 Scott Montgomery Replica
Yes the TRX- 1 was very popular over here in Aus. Brendan Coleman won the Nationals and Vic States (stock) with one in 1992.
That car had a milled chassis from memory. Glad I kept my original from 1992![Smile :)](./images/smilies/icon_smile.gif)

Re: TRX-1........now I realy want one.
Damn the seller was adamant not to send to AU.
What gives with that anyway?

Nice ride,
What type is the front shock tower?
The re-drilled chassis looks like a good mod.

Re: TRX-1 Scott Montgomery Replica
Thats a sweet looking ride.
What was the outcome of the Nat's - Qual/Finals?
Looking at the pic, the TRX-1 would have been well suited to the conditions.

Re: TRX-1 Scott Montgomery Replica
There must have been a method to the madness :D I believe the TRX-1 has 25 deg castor out of the box. Was the Losi at the time was JRX Pro SE? Perhaps the Losi castor block had 5 deg built in. This would give 30 deg without adding the wedges. *Edit* Page 33 of the manual: "Your TRX-1 has 30 deg...

Re: Vintage Tekin ESC question
Ah! I can't remember when these first came out '92 or '93??? Apparently Tekin bought the design off an Aussie. The Aussie brand was "Force", designed and manufactured in Aus.. The Purge Force Mach 3 had an audible keypad and regenerative breaking! It would play a little tune from the motor...

Re: TRX-1 Scott Montgomery Replica
All rather interesting. It does seem like a lot of effort just to use AE wheels. Unless the losi knuckle/axle is a simple affair.

Re: TRX 1 Setup
Hi Guys, good tips on the pistons. I guess you could also use a resin/glue to fill the notches and redrill. Ken, I only have the two notch pistons remaining. Even with 60wt oil they are too soft! The shocks are awesome, it's just my lack of pistons. The one notch pistons may be the ticket, well wort...

Re: TRX-1 Scott Montgomery Replica
I think the AE wheels are a direct fit? Got some work done last night, but after reviewing some more pictures I see Scott ran black shock adjustors up front. So I'll have to take the white off tonight and luckily I have some black one's that will work. For the rear I'm guessing he used RPM clips, t...

Re: TRX 1 Setup
Hi Ken, The TRX-1 is very adjustable and responsive to tuning, especially on modern rubber. My problem at the moment is lack of pistons. I have the: Two notch pistons, but nothing else. They are simply to big. AE, losi pistons etc are to great a dia to fit the TRX bodies. So! I'm running AE shocks a...

Re: TRX-1 Scott Montgomery Replica
Hi Guys cool, thread, any ideas on how the AE front wheels were adapted?
Was this the spec used at the 91 Detroit worlds? I believe the TRX-1 piloted by Scott Montgomery qualified 4th at that event.
