Re: Vintage Optima Gears

I always believed the WASP "pulleys" were natural aluminum, and not black anodized. But I can of course be wrong, or even have them mixed up with something else.... It just pops up in my mind when I hear WASP  I've heard people say the idler-less belt drives are better, and makes mai...

Re: Vintage Optima Gears

Then I believe what you have is a TBS "Competition kit". That is if the belt is a 310MXL. You better start counting the teeth of that belt ;-)

Re: SRB Hop Up Pics & Info Thread

Did we ever find out who made these? Stop it shodog! You're making me feel bad about my cars. You've got some awesome rides in your collection! Anyone know who made these? Thorp maybe? :? They aren't a metric thread, so most likely a U.S. company. http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f164/shutupa...

Re: Vintage Scorpion diffs

Remember that the differential wasn't even an option for the Scorp when it was first released in 1982, nor for the Beetle in 1983. When they later released the diff as an option (and standard on the Tommy -84 and Turbo -85) they also made new gearboxes, with the grooves to stabilize the diff. Those ...

Re: Vintage Scorpion diffs

There are differences between the vintage gearboxes. Some have grooves that the "side plates" of the diff go into, and there are others without the grooves. Make sure you have one WITH these grooves....

But then again, you can't go wrong with a re-re gearbox....

Re: Kyosho re releases

Re: My Optima build thread, (was Rear wing for Optima??)

I know I'm late to the party, and that you have found a very nice solution for a Optima wing. But I had a dive in my boxes today, as I knew I had some vintage wing mounts for the Optima, and I'll just post them here for reference (if someone at a later point are looking for info on Optima wing mount...
