strangersinspace's runner and my soon-to-be shelf queen

I just finished my runner. 1991 RC10 Champ Edition. I threw in a pic of the beginning of my next project... it will also be an RC10 Champ Edition, but I have a freshly powder coated chassis for this one. http://members.cox.net/brianspratt/DSC_0917.JPG http://members.cox.net/brianspratt/DSC_0918.JPG ...

Re: rc10 steering unit

I've had my eye on these for a while now. Think I'll pick some up eventually. They're actually sold by a member here on the forum. If I remember right, his name is Atlas on this site. Just pick up some bearings and you'd be all set: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=250568002432...

Re: *Parts needed to run modern 2.2 rims/tires on your rc10*

So, does the B3 cvd kit have the same basic dimensions and fit as the B2 kit? Meaning it would work on an old RC10 just as well as the B2 cvd kit?

question about 3/16" rear axle

I switched over to the AE 3/16" rear axle to run the 2.2 duratrax wheels. However, the axle does not have the deep recess to put the stock spring into. This causes a little slop in the dogbone setup. Just wondering if anyone else has noticed this or if there is some fix for it. Here's the part....

6 gear help - diff pinion stuck to diff tube

Is there some trick to get the diff gear off the diff tube. I have a bushing in there I'd like to replace with a bearing, but I can't seem to get the thing apart. Anyone have suggestions?

Re: Need help - tips for prepping aluminum for powder coating?

eastwood sells a putty for fixing imperfections prior to powder coating. it's supposed to withstand the high temps, and the powder is supposed to stick to it. Another thread recommends this: http://www.amazon.com/Permatex-26346-Temperature-Repair-Compound/dp/B000ALBZMG I'm going to see how well I c...

Re: Need help - tips for prepping aluminum for powder coating?

Thanks for the quick response.... What is the significance of "DA" sandpaper? Is that a particular type of paper, or a special tool? I basically have a little handheld block the size of a piece of soap that I can fix my sandpaper to. Would that be sufficient in your opinion? Also, when you...

Need help - tips for prepping aluminum for powder coating?

I have a chassis that I'll be soon taking to get powder coated, and I tried using a dremel with a wire brush attachment to sort of smooth out certain areas where the chassis was gouged or scratched fairly deeply. Of course I'm not completely smoothing it out, but just making it a bit less obvious by...

how to properly polish and seal aluminum?

I have some shock bodies that I'm probably going to stip the anodizing off because they are already loosing the color due to shock springs rubbing and general use. I would get them powdercoated but I'm afraid that the coating would interfere with the ability to thread on the shock cap and with the f...
