Re: OOP 1/12th scale bodies - wish list

Yeah, the Parma response was polite but didn't inspire me with the idea that they'd be taking any real action. Pity too, because they had some great 1/12th and 1/8th scale bodies. Not to fawn, but I've admired the photos in your ebay listings for some time. I'm only sorry that I sold all of my old Y...

Re: Piece of Associated/RC History

Other than the body and wheels and bushings, it looks as though this car could be duplicated in my garage.

I never thought about that before. Just make my own RC1ish car. I'm sure I'd be fine until I tried to run it.

Re: World Champion RC 12i Clausen Ad

The RC12E car in this ad (as well as a couple of Tony Neisinger's cars) were on display at the Ranch Pit Shop
back in the late 1980s.
I saw them on a west coast trip and recognized them from pictures I'd seen.
Why, oh why, didn't take a picture?

Whereabouts in Savannah do you live? I live on 52nd Street in Ardsley Park. All of my old "racin' buddies" are in Atlanta (or Parts Unknown).

OOP 1/12th scale bodies - wish list

This is really a question for Mrlexan and maybe others who dabble in lexan or vacu-forming. I have a few older out-of-production bodies (from various manufacturers) and I'm wondering if they can be donated to someone interested in remaking them as long as I can get a couple of the bodies once they'r...

Re: Schumacher CAT screws, nuts, etc....

When I built my XL BITD I replaced those cursed tap head screws with cap head screws. Not original but I just couldn't keep taking that car apart with my flat head screw driver! I chided Cecil Schumacher for that at a race in Florida so many years ago (1987 or 88) and he was a bit shocked. Apparentl...

Re: Not Much of a Resto Required - Cat XLS

I'm kind of new around here. I've only posted a couple of times. This car really takes me back. One question: Didn't XLS come with chrome wheels? I thought mine did BITD. Can't remember. I haven't seen mine since it was was stolen (along with my VW GTI), RC10, Optima and TRC Pro12 and tool box, et a...

Re: Optima Belt Drive

Yes, that's the one. I ordered 3 of these from Tower Hobbies back in 1998 along with many other "OT" Optima parts still floating around in their inventory. Long gone now.

Is this one currently for sale?

Optima Belt Drive

Hello, I'm new here. I just discovered this forum recently. I find that a lot of people in here have been doing what I've been doing for the past several years which is restoring old RC cars. I used to race RC cars back in the 1980s and early 1990s. It got too expensive and I found other things to d...
