Hard anodized shocks
I'm rebuilding/restoring a Goldtub RC10 and was wondering what to do about the shocks. My original gold shocks aren't beat up but the gold has different shades. They're not all identical. I was curious if the hard annodized shocks they came out with are worth buying and how they would look. Are the ...

Re: Replacement parts for Goldpan RC10
veghead211 I own the carriers and at one time had them on. I may have sanded them a little for smoother operation if there was some friction. I have those RPM rear arms on my Goldtub now. I think it says Andy's on the arms but they are exact. They have the exact same width. They are not a wider arm....

A 6 gear for managing stress? Guess it's better than smoking or drinking!

Re: Another buggy for me! :)
Scampi that was it! Heat and lots of it. I got the grill up to 350 degrees which got the dye steaming. I left the parts in there and just stirred them. No luck at first. In fact at first it was discouraging because it looked like the purple was coming off a little and no black was adhering or penetr...

Re: Another buggy for me! :)
RedScampi thanks. I'll boil the dye on the gas grill and try that and add some salt. I'm not allowed in the ktchen ever since I used my wifes oven to bake paint on auto parts.

Re: Build your 6-gear Tranny with Jim Halsey
If it's attached to a motor mount(which I would assume it is)you may try backing off the long allen screws that attach the tranny case to the mount just a hair(not enough so they come loose though). Sometimes if they are over-tightened they seem to pinch the gears and cause drag. My guess is that t...

Re: Build your 6-gear Tranny with Jim Halsey
The bearings are original but they have little wear. They have been oiled. When I built the transmission years ago I sanded down the idler gears to make a nice mesh. I saw the new black ones and wondered if they would be better. I even considered a higher ABEC number for the bearings but don't think...

Re: Another buggy for me! :)
I used hot tap water and let the parts sit over night. I'm thinking of boiling the dye on our outside grill and then soaking the parts. It turns out the dye that I am using is Rit Liquid fabric dye. The parts have been soaking for about 16 hours now.

Re: Another buggy for me! :)
What kind of dye did you use? I did all my white parts royal blue but they came out purple. Now I'm trying to die them black but it's not going very well. I'm using fabric dye which I used before.

Re: MIP 4X4 kit for the RC10 - GAUGING INTEREST ONLY
Say, I didn't see it, probably missed it...but how many "versions" of the kit were there? I remember at our local track one time years ago a guy showed up with a belt drive RC10....this was before the Stealth trans was intro'd. Did the belt drive look like this?? Did you have any problems...

15 seconds? This 6 gear tranny should freely turn for 15 seconds? I get about 3.
