Re: RC10LC - IFMAR 1996 On-Road Worlds Special

I never left, just put down the controllers for a while, been racing unlimited speedway karts, I still lurk to keep an eye on all of you though ;)

So was Jim Deiter the first to use the side shock setup in a pro10 style car?

you guys all behaving yourselves?

Just stopped in to lurk, but thought I'd say hi. I hung up RC's for a little while, still have everything, but the 1 year old, and kart racing keeps the plate pretty full. Hope all is well in the land of brittle nylon! http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c63/pbrallstar/5E114914-D23F-4DC7-BDE5-57BD3C41...

Re: Kids and dirtbikes, any advice or insight?

I accidentally had a CR500 for a little while, non PV. It was violent at the very least. I say accidentally because I was racing 500cc winged outlaw karts at the time and the CR & KX were the engines of choice. I saw a local ad for a '91 cr 500 for a price I couldn't refuse, I was just going to ...

Re: Hey!

Thanks guys, His name is Desmond Chelsea Cook, (the name came to me when Desmond Dekkar came on my iTunes) he was born August 31st. I think his first RC will be a tamiya (I've been looking for an excuse to buy one, maybe a NIB falcon which was my first.) http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c63/pbralls...

Hey!

You guys all behaving around here??? I haven't checked up on you guys lately!

Hope everyone is doing well, I had a baby boy a couple weeks ago so I put down the kart for the rest of the season and hopefully I can pick up my controller for the winter indoor season.

Re: dirt oval discussion

Honestly with the lowering, especially for an edm body, I like the stock CE front tower, and then just cutting down the rear tower for .71 rear shocks. that was what I used to do on my cars and IMHO it worked the best. I've never used the JG kit, but I remember the rear tower looking similar, and in...

Most of the parts on that care are from Kranzel's. You can still buy almost all the parts as well.

Re: dirt oval discussion

I always ran a stock front CE tower and a cut down rear tower so I could run .71 shocks. From there it's just rubbing on setup. I have a good thread on here somewhere with lots of pics of my rc10 based edm's

Re: RC10L fiberglass box art restoration

I would just build a cool period shelfer, I don't think I'd get too hung up on the "box art" aspect of it, unless you can do it 100%. These old 235mm pan cars are really awesome to have in a collection, so just build it "cool". I love my 10L2.5 way more than I thought I would, st...

Re: dirt oval discussion

Dirt oval is my primary form of racing, I run mod sprint, 13.5 sprint, nitro sprint, and 10.5 edm on a pretty regular basis. I fill the gaps with paved oval 17.5 pan car and 13.5 non wing sprint car. here's an example of a WOIN style 2.25 terminator with some rare period parts that I built. It went ...
